For Sale: Full Metal Maruzen Walther P99 Set

Hi guys,

I absolutely love this gun, but there is another project I want to start so I am putting it up for grabs. This is a Licensed Maruzen Walther P99. Here is the link to where I bought it from:

http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/maruzen-walt … light.html

As you can see it has been discontinued now. I bought it about a year ago as just a show piece for my collection. I had another P99 that I used at airsoft skirmishes but I sold it a while back. This one has not left my house since I put it together.

Also installed is a Shooter's Design CNC slide. They make the best airsoft parts you can get, but like the Maruzen P99, it has been discontinued.

It will be shipped with the suppressor, in a hard plastic gun case.

Gun porn time:

I will sell it for $360 shipped to the CONUS. If you are in the UK and are interested, please email me.

I will also include the Vega holster seen in the pictures.

The Actual prop Oddjob Hat

In this topic we will talk about the actual prop hat used by odd job i have some questions that i am looking to get answered for an article in a book I'm working on. Any help will be much appreciated.

it is my understanding that there were a number of hats that were used but only two that had the metal rim attached. in these photos we see one of those hats. first off is this correct?

i heard that one of the steel rimmed hats was said to go to the actor that played Oddjob and as it got used and worn the metal rim started to detach from the body so it was put back together using rivets. in this photo you can see the rivets used.

This same hat was in an auction if I'm not mistaken.

So to me the style of hat has always been a mystery I've seen it called a bowler hat and a top hat but theses styles don't exactly look right to me. don't get me wrong i realize that there are many different styles of a bowler hat and a top hat but the one that looks to me to be the most accurate is called a tall flat top derby hat. it is like a bowler hat but has a gentile curve top that is not exactly rounded nor flat.

if anyone knows the exact style please let me know.

Another mystery to me is the company name that produced the hat
in this picture I can see part of a company name but its obscured by the stand.

another thing i bring to the table is the thrown hat. Supposedly it was attached to a cable and the hat followed the cable but how was the hat attached to the cable and was it one of the hats with the metal rim attached?

Best Bond Sites for Anniversary Product News?

I've been avoiding the usual sites for Bond/Skyfall news but I was wondering if any Bond fans here knew of any other sites that just post information on upcoming Bond anniversary items. I was hoping that people would start small threads here.

I stumbled across a Robert McGinnis Roger Moore print a few nights ago. It's expensive and reminds me of a complete illustration he did a while back. Which was also expensive. I hope he does something else for the anniversary. We should be seeing the Skyfall teaser and a poster soon.

http://www.mountstreetgalleries.com/pri … an-1926-2/

Here is another anniversary print by Max Dalton. It's fun but not really my thing.

David O'Daniel/Alien Corset is working on some Bond prints. He previewed Dr. No, Thunderball, and Live and Let Die.

Anything else you guys/girls have seen? Besides those Omega editions of course. I'm really interested in artwork. Perhaps some models or props. Thanks.

Ian Fleming novels seem to be under rated

Recently I decided it was high time that I read the Ian Fleming novels. Not sure why it took me 30 years to realise that as a Bond fan I might enjoy these. So I went on amazon and bought several of the novels,

Maybe I am too used to every movie/book/video game/happy meal having cross promotional marketing. But it seems like the novels have not gotten a lot of love by whomever owns those rights.

I just think of the other intellectual properties out there and it seems the novels which those IPs are based are always getting a fresh look, box sets, marketed a little heavier etc.

Just for a lark I've tried to find Ian Fleming novels in local inde book stores and I can never find any. Sure they have three versions of Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Hunger Games, but you can't find a Fleming novel to save your life.

My guess is the deals for the Bond IP were made in a different time. MGM owns just the film rights to most (all) of the novels. Someone else owns the novels. No one has any incentive to republish these and cross promote them with the movies.

I also wonder, having not yet read the novels, if this IP is different than most. Perhaps these novels are not very good and the best part of the IP are the films.

Anyhoo not saying I want a pretty cover on an old book, doesn't matter to me so much. I am just curious how this IP seems to have been handled differently than any other IP based on a series of novels.

Thoughts?

In the last year or so, i've been more inclined to watch Roger Moore's Bond more than any other. I'm finding his films a lot of fun to watch. Just saw Man with the Golden Gun. I had not seen that one in maybe 6 years and i had a blast watching it.

Considering that im a Connery and Craig fan, i find this a tad odd.
Is this strange? Were Moore's Bonds not the 'light' Bond?

Now i'm hoping that Skyfall doesnt take itself as serious as the previous two, so that it may be a little like those rollicking Moore films...of course this wont happen i'm sure...

Hello to all. In this discussion we will focus on the actual golden gun prop used in the film the man with the golden gun and hopefully put to rest many of the roomers and myths out there that pertain to it. The goal of this topic is to is to find out which prop did what and where they are now. I myself have spent 15 + years studying the props. have many pictures, ideas, and facts that solve a lot of questions people seem to have: however, I do not know everything! If anyone has questions, information or personal pictures taken of the actual prop then you are encouraged to post it.
