Aston Martin DBS models

Does anyone know if there's any "big-ish" models of the DBS (CR, not OHMSS) floating around? Best I can find is a 1:43 which is 12cm long!!

Well Disco, they seem quite elusive to find in a big-ish model!

Found this one though........not sure if it is the one you were looking for or the correct size... :#

Thanks Jamie, but that's the Vanquish and although it's the perfect size, it's the wrong car!!!

It does Jamie, and I've also found this one too on eBay, and it's exactly what I'm after! Thanks.

Well, they're available to order now matey, but you won't get much change from £160K (and you;ll have to wait too!!).

I see something red in the backseat ... anyone know if this ERTL model does, in fact, include gadgets from the actual car (though not seen in the film)?

    I'd rather get myself a DB5.

Sorry, I seem to have missed this thread :(

You can always by one from here http://www.play.com/Gadgets/Gadgets/4-/1094664/James_Bond_1_18_Aston_Martin_DBS_From_Casino_Royale/Product.html

I believe this is the one you are after. A damn sight cheaper than the shops - certainly near me anyway :)

Pretty sure that's the fire extinguisher. The real DBS is intended as a bit of a trackday crossover car and the prototype (used as the Bond car) included a fire extinguisher and helmets in the backseat area.

As there's free delivery on play.com, that makes it a good £8 cheaper than everywhere else.

    Order placed - thanks {[]

I have this model sitting right next to my computer at work. The red object is a fire estinguisher where the center arm rest of the back seat would be.

EDIT: Oops, see Bill already posted. BTW, I saw an R/C version at Radio Shack (their label) last night for $40. It's about 1/12th scale?

The RS site states "DB5" and touts "tearing down the road in Bond's classic Aston" but show a picture of the DBS (and, as you note, that's what's in the store, as well). Wonder if they're doing both (as they did with Zip Zaps for DAD) or just someone misreading Ss and 5s? (Reminds me of an error in one of Lee Pfeiffer's books, the result of a pressman seeing DBS just as the book was going to print and "helping-out" Lee by "correcting" it to DB5).

I'm happy to report that Santa will be bringing the Radio Shack R/C Aston Martin DBS down the chimney with him this Christmas eve...in addition to an R/C HumVee and an R/C Jeep. I'm already planning it out: My boys and I will take turns being Bond, chased by the baddies in the 4x4s... :v B-)

just to address the original topic of this thread, and to help people out who may not already know, but there's some bad news.

ertl/rc2/joyride, whichever one you want to call them has now lost the licence to produce bond car models.

due to this, finding a 1:18 CR dbs is now similar to looking for that sewing tool in a pile of dried grass or sourcing rocking horse crap.

the only place i can find them is of course ebay, but most sellers are using (naturally) the rarity of this item to their advantage and charging a forutune. prices of 70 - 80 quid is a norm to be honest, and for a model that originally cost 35, well its a bit steep isn't it.

i keep asking around, and i rang every toy shop in my county just out of curiousity, and the answer is always 'no, never going to get them again, try the internet'.

if anyone knows of any manufacturer thats going for the licence, then please let me know.

as for QOS 1:18 dbs, well, give up looking now. they simply don't exist in the mass production market.

Minijeff, I am amazed at your model talent. Derek Meddings would have been proud. Equally I am appaled. What have you done to that lovely car?! It really looks like the mess 007 made of it in QOS. :s Let me know when you plan on doing Atlantis from TSWLM, or the Moonraker shuttles!

Re Aston Martin models, I don't know if anyone else is into radio controlled models but I got the Nikko radio controlled Casino R version of the car in the same scale on Ebay. Fraction of the cost of the high price ones, and still a beautiful replica.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

very nice model... 10/10 great attention to detail .. I used to modify and customize the model Bond cars .. to make them better.. before getting rid of all CORGI and other models... and just sticking to props and replicas. and vintage collectables...

Going by what you have done with that DBS model.. I would love to see you customize... the corgi dbs... Bonds OHMSS DBS on the mountain side road where Tracy is killed at the end of the film...

I customized a DBS corgi car... sat with a fine cutting tool and scalpal .. and created the bullet hole in the windscreen.. and took the wire wheels off the DIRECTORS CUT corgi DB5 and put them onto it.. to give it a more realistic look...

    again great Job.. well done
  • minigeffminigeff EnglandPosts: 7,884MI6 Agent
well a OHMSS dbs is planned, but i'll be doing it in 1:43. thats another side project alongside several other jobs on the go.

TBH i either prefer 1:18 or 1:43 model. the corgi 1:36 are ok, but some seem a bit crude in places.

cheers for the great commments people, its great to see such nice comments.

however, and being brutally honest against myself, there is one error with that 1:43 dbs.

i'll give you a gold star if you can pick it out.

and its not the bullet holes, they were all sourced from screen shots.
