To celebrate the 50th anniversary of James Bond on film, Christie's announces 50 Years of James Bond - The Auction which will present a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of Bond memorabilia direct from the archives of EON Productions as well as donations from the Bond cast. Forty lots will be at an online-only auction from 28th September to 8th October 2012, with 10 further lots to highlight an invitation only auction at Christie's South Kensington on 5th October - marking the 50th anniversary of the first screening of Dr. No. These 10 further lots will be accessible to both internet and live, real-time bids. All items offered for sale will be on public exhibition at Christie's South Kensington saleroom, 85 Old Brompton Road from 11am on Saturday, 29 September until 5pm on Friday, 5 October 2012; admittance free. All proceeds of the auction will benefit UNICEF's work for children and other charitable causes. Further details of all individual lots will be available upon the publication of the catalogue in September 2012.

A number of the lots for sale at Christie's 50 Years of James Bond auction on 5th October have been revealed. They include a 2008 Aston Martin 6 Litre V12 DBS 2 door-coupe used in Quantum of Solace, which is expected to fetch up to £150,000. Memorabilia from every Bond film will be sold to help twelve charities including Barnado's, Unicef and The National Youth Theatre.

The Aston Martin DBS from Quantum of Solace is wanted by two of the highest profile footballer's in the world. Apparently, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo will both be bidding for the car when it comes up for auction at Christie's on the 5th October.

A public exhibition featuring the items (lots) that will be auctioned is now open until 5pm on Friday at Christie's South Kensington saleroom. An article and video from ITV News at Christie's 50 Years of James Bond auction that was held last night in London. The swimming trunks worn by Daniel Craig in Casino Royale sold for £44,450. Other lots sold included the navy, wool Tom Ford suit worn by Craig in Skyfall for £46,850. The Aston Martin, 6 Litre V12 DBS, two-door coupe driven by Craig in Quantum of Solace sold for £241,250. And the titanium Omega Seamaster Professional Planet Ocean watch worn by Craig in Skyfall £157,250.

It took me a few seconds to figure out that photo. At first I thought it was a really bad old-fashioned glue-stick and scissors cut and paste job that someone had gouged DC's eye from...but then I realised what I was actually looking at! ajb007/rolleyes
