I haven't seen this thread posted yet. Just read Dr.No and it is defiantly my favourite Bond novel, what's yours?

    Moonraker - first read and still be best! Fleming at his finest in terms of plot and characterisation. -{

    Moonraker is my favorite book. I also really enjoyed Casino Royale. I read all the novels after watching their corresponding films except Casino Royale and I think the fact that these two were not spoiled by watching the films first made them more enjoyable. For those who have not read the books, Moonraker the movie and Moonraker the novel are nothing alike IMO.

    I think we can all decide that Fleming Bond books are far superior then the other Bond novels.

    Im up to Goldfinger (halfway)

    Must say Moonraker was a great read as well as FRWL.

    Dr No was a bit of a bore for me.

    Looking forward to OHMSS and Thunderball!!

    I agree with those who nominated Moonraker. It's nothing like the film. Moonraker was an absolutely thrilling read. I love it. I rate it as the best of Fleming's James Bond novels.

    Then there's From Russia With Love, Thunderball, Casino Royale ... all brilliant. There weren't that many Fleming novels that were 'bad' as such, but I didn't enjoy Diamonds Are Forever or Goldfinger as much as I enjoyed the others.

    Like many others, Dr. No is my favourite (of the few I've read), I finished Thunderball a while ago, but became bored in some parts :# . Goldfinger is very good, the film is also one of my top choices. :)
