Give the guy a Rolex submariner and stop this omega silliness... :v And let the Watch crown/winder come out like Grant's garrotte in FRWL.

In a LALD vein, It would be cool to see the Bezel spinning round and being fired across a room, to cut
    a wire :))

Unveiled today by Omega. what do you think of this for Bond's new watch in Bond 24? I'm not sure yet, something seems to be missing with this watch.

The polished centre links really let it down, other than that it has a very 60's vintage feel, it is almost identical to their 1957 Seamaster 300 model, if Only Rolex had the same drive to make some old 6538 / 5513 / 5512 type models instead of some of their newer gaudy models. The newer Rolex GMT is also let down by the polished centre links. I just can't understand who steps in a ruins a good idea like that ?

I would personally like to see a stainless steel diver return. I certainly don't buy into the, frankly tedious, argument that JB should wear a Rolex. He will have been wearing an Omega for 20 years soon enough. I am fortunate enough to own an Omega PO and a Rolex Sub 114060 so as a watch fan I'm just looking forward to whatever is selected, I just hope they don't change the watch models again 8-)

Can't understand the whining about polished center links.

I do think that in Omega's case the connection with Bond is worth every penny. They only have to sell 9000 POs to make back the 45 million Heineken invested....

    They didn't.

It was widely reported like that but the $45 million figure was the total paid for all product placement deals in Skyfall. That includes Heineken, Omega and everyone else.

    I think you're wrong.

Heineken did and Omega is supposed to have a 50 million contract over 4 movies

I am absolutely on Team Bremont right now. My dealings with the company have been an excellent example of fantastic customer service... or in my case "customer-to-be" service.
They quite humbly point out that the core of their range begins with an excellent Swiss movement, but with many additions and customisations, improvements and the design being in house at Henley-on -Thames, and now all of Bremont's chronometers are fully assembled in Henley.
Living down under it is rare I get misty eyed for UK luxury brands (apart from my shoes... and my thirst to get an Aston Martin before I am too damn old to really enjoy it). But Bremont have really impressed me with their care, design and overall brand ethos.
Bring on the day I put in an order for an MBIII. The watch James Bond really should be wearing :007)

To me, it's a bunch of Marketing people, who have invested in a name and a marketing budget with a lot of promises which they can't keep at all and when being caught: "oops, we did not know- we have been naive and proud - this is all a misunderstanding".

    http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/video-bremont-co-founder-nick-english-responds-to-questions-about-new-movement
    (read also the comments)

Their nastiest move was to put a mini-mini-piece of cloth (supposedly from the Wright plane - wouldn't suprise me if it was a random underwear fabric) in the rotor and selling it for silly prices as a limited aviation-themed Edition.

There is no comparison with Aston Martin and such brands.

    * "These Bremont posts are unreal. What a completely worthless brand. A bunch of fakes cashing in on the current watch crazy by producing "limited" pieces with conjured story lines and absolutely no provenance.

"Hey, look at me guys! I own a 1mm x 2mm piece of the original Wright Flyer! And I only paid £19,000 for it!"

If you ask me it's a spit in the face of the Wright brothers'. These were men who were true innovators. Real men who worked for a living and would punch whatever sucker would pay that much for such a low caste watch.

The in-house movement swindle had me rolling on the floor. Not surprised from some quasi-brand trying to make a quick buck. Hodinkee, please spare us. I'd rather buy 1,900 Timex watches. Whoever buys one of these is the definition of a bourgeois tool."

They actually claim on their website that the MB1 model watch can only be purchased by those who've ejected from an aeroplane in a Martin Baker seat - very limited market then!

They then go on to claim that the movement is magnetically shielded with a soft iron Faraday cage, but yet there's an open day/date window which will render the Faraday cage useless.

A final claim is that the MB1 has a "Bremont moulded and skeletised decorated rotor" - not that anyone can see it through the solid steel case back!

Pure marketing hype. They're selling a lifestyle, not a decent timepiece to rival even the most modest Omega, Rolex or Breathing models.

I don't want to check Bremont's webpage because it will make me angry - BUT

if they are speaking about a Farraday Cage they proove again that Bremont don't know an a from an arse!
The purpose of a Faraday Cage is to block external static and non-static electric fields.

This has not much to do with magnetism and you can't use a Faraday Cage to block magnetism.

For that purpose you need a Soft Iron Casing or all moving movement parts must be amagnetic.

So a mganetic shield in a watch consists of a soft-iron dial, a soft-iron ring and a soft-iron cap on the bottom and this has nothing to do with that mesh type Faraday Cage.

And The Commander is right: These type of watches (Rolex Milgauss, IWC Mark X) don't have a Date opening in the dial.
Not sure if the Ingenieur has a Soft-Iron Date Wheel though.

I hope its not the Aqua Terra, it looks feminine too me, the black PO from QOS and the PTS was the perfect fit for DC.

I don't dislike the aqua terra as a watch but as a bond watch it isn't my first choice. However, given the circumstances and what's happened in previous films, can you see them trying a completely different watch to revert back to a previous style? I would love a planet ocean in the new film. Or even better a diver 300m.

I can see them trying a new watch, as others have noted, DC's Bond has really no clothing continuity.

I suppose it would depend on what omega has at the time filming begins. What watch do you think they'll use?

Wonder if Omega sales has much to do with it

e.g. revive sales on AT chuck it on Bonds wrist etc

Then again I heard DC chose the AT so who knows, it sounds like DC has a lot of power in what he wears since QoS onwards. Maybe this is why CR was so good in this respect, at that stage he wore what he was given :))

Personally since Skyfall I have lost interest in what he wears on his wrist, wish he just stuck to one like old Brosnan, its fair to say DCs Bond does not have a watch attached to him like previous Bonds as he goes thru them like candy!

I believe each omega retailer/authorised retailer has a limited number of 'bond watches'. These are the model worn in the films. So I suppose in some way sales are recorded and therefore may influence what's chosen. But given omegas investment in the film it would make sense for them to have a selection of watches they wish to use and then DC and the team then make a decision? I have no idea how it works. I would love for them to use the new seamaster 300. However I feel the watch is more of a fashion statement than what bond would use.

Don't be surprised if it's a model, or more likely, a dial colour/variant that isn't available yet - the Skyfall blue AT wasn't in production until after the film was released.....
Although the PO was marketed as the Bond watch, we all know the Ti version used in the film was specially made for the film only.
The best bets from watches we know about, are the AT Master Co-Axial, or the Seamater 300 Master Co-Axial.

The new seamaster 300 coaxial is a lovely watch. I can't see it being used as a bond watch though. More of a fashion accessory. Out of the 2 you suggested the AT is more likely.

    Holden, we meet again. Lol

Just been reading back through the posts. I really do think the AT will feature for Bond 24. If DC did chose the watch for the film. It would be silly for him to go back to a previous watch. I can't find anything anywhere online regarding the watch. You had any luck?
