60's Bond & 80's Bond

Have you ever considered putting the five Bond films of the 1980's on the same pedestal as the six Bond films from the 1960's? Or are the 80's Bond films good but not that good?

The 80s films are good for the most part aside AVTAK that one is the exception or at least in my mind. The 6 films from the 60s are just classic Bond films and while the ones from the 80s are great I don't think they have the same classic appeal the 60s films do.

You're asking someone who was born in the 70's, grew up with Moore as Bond, and having no emotional attachments to Connery whatsoever?? :p :))

Seriously, since you ask, I do prefer the 80's Bonds to those of the 60's.

Speaking as an old dinosaur. ;) The 60s are the best, almost perfect and much
closer to the books on which they're based. Although I do know there are many
Fans who have never read the books. I'm just glad to see how Bond can exist in
    the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and beyond. {[]

I'm also a chap who saw Moore first & grew with his cinematic forays. But for me, the '60s Bonds are best. I'm not a Fleming devotee but Connery & Lazenby would seem to have the pick of the books with clearly defined stories & characters. There's a better balance between danger & humour - a style shared by both actors & film-makers. There's also a clear sense of a franchise evolving, with all ingredients coming into play with each successive film. Plus I think Bond just works better in the Swinging '60s. There's a sense of style & panache the '80s Bonds just don't have. I don't dislike the '80s era but without the '60s the other decades just wouldn't exist.

I'm a guy who was born in 1985. Well past the swinging 60's era of James Bond but in the early-to-mid 90's, I was able to go back to that 60's era thanks to home video and eventually DVD.

Now, I believe there's things to like about both the 80's and 60's James Bond but I think the 60's will always be better because of Sean Connery's earliest performances (Dr. No-Thunderball) and because of George Lazenby's performance during Diana Riggs's death scene.

I enjoy Goldfinger and Thunderball is a great film... but Living Daylights and Licence to Kill alone beat both of those and the rest of the 60s films to me. But that's not really saying a lot since I enjoy almost all Bonds and the degree seperating anything outside the top 7 are so are really small for the most part.
Top Ten Bond - 10:Goldfinger 9:Thunderball 8:The Spy who Loved Me 7:For Your Eyes Only 6: Casino Royale 5:The Man with the Golden Gun 4:Quantum of Solace 3:Licence to Kill 2:Goldeneye 1:The Living Daylights

The 60's and 80's were the two strongest Decades for Bond in my Opinion.
1.On Her Majesties Secret Service 2.The Living Daylights 3.license To Kill 4.The Spy Who Loved Me 5.Goldfinger
