    I agree that all three films you mentioned contain terrific non-Bond performances by Connery. A couple of others I would mention are The Anderson Tapes, also directed by Sidney Lumet, and of course The Untouchables.

    both Connery and Bannen both stared in THE HILL ,Connery was a prisoner and Bannen played a military staff provost corp prison officer
