I've been waiting for him to get back to me if there was enough material for my order.

Hello gang...some good news/ bad news....the good news is I received the first five shirts of this run...the box, tags, and details are fantastic. When compared to my Zara shirt everything matches up beautifully, and the post wash of the shirt adds to the softness and relaxed feel. Buttons look good, collar size, pockets etc...all good:

I was excited to try these on as you can imagine...I had ordered three mediums and two larges. I am a true medium and according to the size chart this was the size for me...but when I tred on the medium this is what I was met with...

    enjoying_death_031.jpg

I could not even button it up all the way...it fit more like an extra small....I hurriedly tried on the large and even though it fit a bit better, it still was uber tight...stretching buttons and from the side shot you can see that unless you have a 30 inch waist it is going to be tight:

I immediately contacted Hart who is obviously gutted. That being said he felt very strongly that he wanted to get the board up to date and knowing that he has contacted the manufacturer immediately. I believe he is personally going there this week to investigate this situation. He will update all those that purchased the shirts as soon as he finds something out and where the sizing disconnect was....I will say this, as much as I am dissapointed I will wait for Hart's solution as I know he has poured his heart and soul into this project and wants to see it come out right....

Sorry to hear of you unfortunate issue with sizing! The other option I guess is downsize the body to fit :D

However to reduce the stress if you wish to part with one I will happily buy one off you as I am a 39 chest and 30 inch waist! I missed the original discussions on this one as I was out the country for a while.

PM me if you wish to lessen your losses

    Cheers

P.S Nice chest shot by the way :-)

sorry about your problems with the size of the shirts.

    Hi Mantis

These things happen, Hart is not to blame and I'm sure on behalf of all of us who have bought the shirts, we know that Hart will do what he can to put things right... As you say, he has put his heart (no pun intended :D ) and soul into it.

Maybe as a thought, and only if numbers allow it, but if all who chose Medium were sent a Large, and all who chose Large were sent an XL, etc....if that works.... Then few shirts would need to be replaced. Anyway, just a thought but, as we have all waited this long, it's better to wait a little longer and get the shirts perfect. So whatever works best.

    Thanks again Mantis and Hart for all your good work. -{

I had thought the same, as long as the fit isn't too funky, they can go down the chain, which would at least take care of many of the purchasers of the smaller sizes.

Mantis, your face in the first two pictures says it all.
  • PaperbillPaperbill FloridaPosts: 810MI6 Agent
Without adding too much too much, the shirts are about 2 and 1/2 sizes too small so simply sizing up doesn't work. I bought a size up anticipating alterations and it is too small.

I'm guessing maybe something happened during the garment wash process? We were expecting some shrinkage as per the sample, maybe something went wrong.

Shame but will wait for the update from Hart. He's put in so much effort through this painstaking process...

This is the manufacturers bad. I hope they do the right thing by Hart and all involved.
I would still purchase one if this can be resolved.
Thanks for the update Mantis and good luck Hart.

Thanks for everyone's patience until we find out what's what...yeah, my face says a thousand words in those pics....I do think there may be something to the idea that some people can take sizes that are twice their expected size....for example, since I am a medium Hart could send me an XL and it would fit me find...of course that doesn't help the people that are true XL or XXL....stay tuned....
  • WardWard Maryland/LondonPosts: 195MI6 Agent
IIRC the shirts were made with the pre-washed fabric, correct? This would mean this is probably a goof by the tailors.
Is there a complete interest list with sizes on this thread? If the amount of people who got small and large/medium and XL is the same, at least that's two sizes possibly covered.

I was on the fence between a small and an extra small, so any unfortunates hulking out in their mediums can keep me in mind if we start playing musical shirts.

anyone who might need a medium which equals a small or Xsmall email me at david@thebondexperience....can't do anything yet since the manufacturer may ask for all shirts back (though ZI cant imagine that) but would be good to have a list....

Like you David I'm a true medium but went for a large just in case.
Training with your CR body training videos I would say your more in DC shape than me , so I might just be fine with my large.
Trust Harte's judgement but I might just get away with it. ;)

I haven't received mine yet but this really makes me worry, because I am a bulky 3XL. That's not on the size chart, but Hart promised to have one made for me specially. Plus 3cm on all measures of XXL we figured. He just said, mine would need a little more patience on my side which is fine.

So @Hart: If my special 3XL has not been tailored yet, please let them add some more extra centimeters!

Believe me, you don't want to see me do what Mantis did with the M size...and allthough it would be quite Q-ish, I don't want to kill anyone with a buzzing button either.

Cross my fingers that you can sort this whole size problem out, Hart. Good luck, Pal!

Aside from the sizing concern, the finished shirts look great!! Pattern and colors look spot on!

Interesting, however, that the fit in the pics looks just like actual Zara shirt - tight through the body but looser in the sleeves.

    Kind regards,
    Craig

My thoughts exactly, maybe this replica shirt is too accurate when compared to the Zara youth shirt!

Interestingly, I thought the same thing. I normally take a size small in my shirts, and most of my Zara shirts are that size. However, with this shirt I had to take a medium and even then it's a touch tight on me (I bought one during the first run when nobody knew about the Bond connection - for $19 during the Boxing week sale!)

Looks to me like it's a case of getting it too accurate! It looks spot on to the original fit.

I don't have a "Zara" for comparison, but I did buy the H&M version in XL and it was too tight for me. I wear mostly XL but occasionally need XXL in European sizes so I sixed up to XXL with this shirt figuring I would have it altered. I along with David were the first testers. The XXL fits tighter than the H&M XL did. Way too small.
