Everything or Nothing, The Untold Story of 007

Please forgive me if this topic has been discussed. I am a brand new member to ajb007, so I don't know where to look. I am 57 years old and Dr. No is the first film I saw in a theatre, and I have been a 007 fanatic ever since. I only just learned of this documentary and have been frustrated in my attempts to buy one here in Canada. Can somebody please tell me if it is available here.

    Welcome to ajb, and I hope you enjoy yourself here! Sorry, I have no idea about the availability of that documentary (which is very good) in Canada but am sure that one of our more knowledgeable members can help.

    Unfortunately, it isn't yet available in Canada on DVD or Blu Ray. You can buy it from the UK (Amazon.co.uk and eBay etc) in a DVD format that won't play on a standard Canadian DVD player (if you look around, you might be able to find a region-free DVD player in small electronics shop - ie not the big chains) however, many laptops will play 'foreign' DVDs.

    Can be bought as an Instant Video from Amazon US.

    Sometimes those US downloads aren't permitted in Canada because someone else owns the distribution rights in Canada than in the US, but it's well worth trying if you want an electronic copy.

    Fair enough - I suppose that's partly why it isn't available in Canada (or the US ?) on DVD/Bluray -{

    I have searched for it on DVD or Bluray in the US and I haven't been able to find it.

    Exactly. The recent Fleming bio isn't available in North America on DVD yet either. I'm guessing that someone's planning on showing it to death on TV before allowing people to buy it for their library.

    Seems like there's a few, mysterious retail restrictions for Canadian residents. I occasionally shop from Amazon Canada but when I tried to buy a gift to be shipped to someone there, a hair dryer, none were for sale!?! I'm not sure if that has changed since then (about 2 years ago).

    Speaking from experience, shopping online and just in general being a Canadian can have weird challenges. They can real sticklers for not allowing certain things and placing certain restrictions which hamper what you can shop for, especially if you're using a website that is based outside of Canada.

    Canada has laws about protecting Canadian businesses and communications. That's why internet rates and cell phone rates are more expensive in Canada than the U.S. for example. So, in a roundabout answer, I'm not sure how you'd purchase it if it isn't available in Canada.

    Thank you for the replies. Amazon in the U.S has it but they won't ship to Canada, but we have relatives there so I may be able to sort something out.

    I've checked the Amazon site a few times, but all I have seen available is the instant video, not the DVD.

    As far as I'm aware Blackleiter, the DVD is not yet available in North America. As you say, only the instant video. It's possible that it's still making its way around small movie theatres and will hopefully become available soon...fingers crossed.
