Have any of you ever been able to create a event or something of the sort in your town and having a theatre play a Bond movie?

I had the thought i'd like to try and get something started and put all the ticket $ towards a charity. Is this even possible?

    Harris,

You need two contacts 1) a rental firm that will send a digital copy or 35 mm print, etc. of a film to your local theater 2) a theater to rent and advertise the showing. It should be several hundred dollars to rent the film and then a few hundred to a thousand more to rent the theater. You can then sell tickets and advertise that a portion of the proceeds will go to a local charity.

It is ideal if the theater lobby will let you show memorabilia and provide catered, themed snacks in the lobby or else theme the snacks they sell for the night like "shaken, not stirred" sodas... you will need to sell a certain amount of tickets at $25 or however much per person to break even before money goes to the charity. 2014 is a rounded anniversary year for Goldfinger, OHMSS, TMWTGG, LTK, TWINE. Good luck!

If anyone wants to take the lead on doing something like this in the DC Metro area, you'd have at least one attendee! Heck, if I'm able to, I'd even pitch in with setting it up!

I want to see all the movies in the theater one day. I remember a few years back it happened somewhere. But I can't remember where.

I did indeed try. I got a cinema willing to do the screening, they just needed permission from EON. I wrote to them, and put a phone call in as well, but never got anything back so couldn't proceed.

In the U.S. they do not need permission from Eon. You merely pay the film distributor for the permission to rent and air the film...

My only experience was many years ago when in my town they started up a film club
to show classic films and us " Intellectuals" :)) would discuss them. As Bond Collector's
Weekends said, you just paid a fee and could show them.
