    Licence Renewed is a fine Bond novel - wasn't that keen on FSS and I think NSF is awful...for "something a bit different from Gardner" try The Man From Barbarossa...

    TMFB featured Pete Natkowitz as a Mossad agent but three years later in Seafire Gardner calls him Steve Natkowitz when he reappears I believe.

    My fav Gardner novel is Icebreaker, also enjoyed Win, Lose Or Die. I think his earlier Bonds were all enjoyable, but no Fleming !. Agree that the latter ones were hard work, the worst being Man From Barbarossa, tedious.
