I think the tight-fitting suits in Skyfall were the best suits Bonds ever worn in the series.

The Brosnan hate is full on here, I see. :(

Not Brosnan. The films he made as Bond. The best is TWINE, and that has Christmas Jones...It's like four MR in a row, but instead of the silliness being around Bond, Bond does silly things himself (like flying to catch a plane, riding a tsunami, driving invisible car, motorbiking under a helicopter,..., all of this with a face that says all the time, "am I pretty or what?"). Just my two cents.

So not hate for Brosnan - apart from his face then? 8-) :o

I recall the cheers which accompanied the screening of Goldeneye, as audiences knew that 'Bond was back' - after the fallow Dalton years. Guess this will be an equally obtuse or unpopular post but for me, Dalton never cut the mustard as Bond. {:)

Honestly, everyone who's played Bond has done a great job. {[] I can't understand
Why because someone is good looking, they can't do their job. I've been told that
Sir Miles and Barbel and Hardyboy are all male model types. Extremely beautiful
Men, straight off the Paris catwalk, they have had to fight against the prejudice of
Being gorgeous all their lives, you'd think they could find a little peace here on AJB. {[]
( Admittedly, I may have been lied to ;) )

Agreed! I'd rather watch Dalton as Bond than most any other film, even if he's not my favourite.

I recall many people in the theatre laughing, loudly, as if it was a Jim Carrey movie, in the GE PTS when Brosnan was flying by the plane. I was embarrassed. It was the first of many facepalm moments in the Brosnan years. And yes, I didn't like his expressions (much like Moore's) of "wow, I'm really handsome!". But he's a good actor. In "Fourth Protocol" he played a cold killer spy brilliantly. He could pull it off had he been allowed to pull it off. He would probably agree with me.

I guess that's my unpopular opinion. Brosnan would have been brilliant it TLD, LTK, CR, QoS and SF. As for Dalton, his performance was ahead of its time.

    Well played ! :))
I must the luckiest, incredibly gifted, talented, and pretty Bond fan !
( sorry got a bit side tracked there )
I love all the Bond actors, I can't see many of the faults others see
    ( I guess, that's love )

Craig is gritty, realistic and bold
Connery is rugged but sadly got too old
Sophisticated and suave now that was Moore
Brosnan helped the reboot, that's for sure
Lazenby was tough, and as hard as they come
So god help the next guy, and the critics of his run ! :))

    Sean Connery is great as Bond..for the first three movies..though I dislike FRWL & GF immensely & he's **** as Bond in TB/YOLT/DAF..though I love Yolt Intensely. Lazanby was great as Bond. Brosnan was just..**** (He was good in Goldeneye but the movie doesn't stand out..I do like the Tank Chase though). Craig had Casino Royale only...and Dalton was mediocre..but I like him in LTK only. Roger Moore unfortunately has the burden of being the greatest Bond of all time..I love every single one of his films even the **** one (MWTGG)..is still awesome. He's the only Bond that went different and had pathos..I loved his later kinda tragic sad take on the character. -{ -{ -{ -{ -{

Of course BL..(Even though we never agree)
    not saying Roger intended it..he only acted well in a movie called The Man who haunted himself..he's not a great actor but (though he was good in Wild Geese & Shout at the Devil even though the filmakers were doing their best to undermine him...)...he's really good at his version of Bond..yeah its not the tough guy..but he was..he was very cruel to..but seasoned...LALD he was BOND to me ..MWTGG..it was schizophrenic TSWLM..i'm probably the only Bond fan that doesn't care for that one too much..But from Moonraker on its insane sillyness thru AVTAK he was Bond to me & the Ian Flemings Bond..not talking about plot or story just portrayal..he had a world weary thing going on I found interesting even in the silly films like Octopussy. Connery just did what he did..though in NSNA it seemed like he was trying to outdo Roger Moore in the camp category..and rules for camp..it can't be deliberate. Anyways thats how I see it..James Bond at the end of his career and tired of all the death and killing..but its got to get done. -{

Dalton was so good that he needed no rhyme,
Even that Higgins will see this in time!

Need I remind all you would-be poets
We're good at one thing - that's Bond and you know it
So quit all this nonsense and get back to the topic
Or I'll call on ole Sir Miles to step in and stop it! :D

Back on topic it is with an idea that's new,
it just kinda struck me from out of the blue.
How about a film that's narrated by Bond all throughout,
    It would be so awesome, of that I've no doubt! -{

Not to criticise or Flambe your your parts
But that's a horrible idea ! It really sucks f*rts
Bond is action, stunts and glitz
And silhouetted girls showing their wobbly bits.

    You have poetic talents
    You don't wish to hide
    So have at it folks
    Keep slinging those verses
    But make it about Bond
Or I'll shower you with curses! :))

I love the narration in films like Blade Runner,
forgive me for thinking that Bond could be funner
with a view to his inner brainworking and thought,
but you may be correct- it might come to naught. :#

I'm with Barbel, I don't want to hear
Bond's inner thoughts resound in my ear
He's no Private Eye, like Marlowe or Spade
His interior dialogue must remain unrelayed.

And how did this thread get quite so bizarre? I hate to moan,
But it seems to have wandered into the Twilight Zone.
To clear my head I'm going to have to take another nap.
Cos now my interior dialogue is all spoken in rap. :#

Dr No originally was to have some narration
Bond's voice setting out his dangerous situation
But they decide not to use it, in favour of glamour.
So the calls for narration, there's really no clamor ! :D

In some comic strips they gave it a try
Bond did narration in "Live And Let Die"
And Fleming once tried a new POV
When Vivienne wrote "The Spy Who Loved Me".

Ah! Yes, the novel. But it wasn't a success
Well, not as popular as all of the rest
But I don't want to hear it in the movies today
" Bond's full of action"!, let's keep it that way. :D
