Michael G. Wilson - time traveller?

There's something I've always found *very* strange about those "Inside (movie title here)" documentaries that debuted on the Special Edition DVD's...

Look at the shelving behind Michael G. Wilson in his interviews. Notice anything peculiar? He has the Special Edition DVD's behind him. The same DVD's he's filming interviews for at that moment.

    Such an odd little find. Very good eyes. Probably promotional cases they had, wonder if it was purposefully put there.

    Doesn't he appear on every Bond movie since Goldfinger? He must be the one single person involved in more Bonds ever. More than anyone, including the Broccolis, Harry Saltzman, Sean Connery, Roger Moore, John Barry, Maurice Binder, John Glen....

    After his minor involvement with GF, Mr Wilson resumed his studies and later joined Eon in 1972 in a legal capacity. He took a more active role when Harry Saltzman left, again initially on the legal side and then as his stepfather's right-hand man from TSWLM onwards, taking on more and more responsibility with each movie. So, while he hasn't been involved in every Bond movie since GF it's certainly more than anyone else.

    It raises an interesting question, who - MGW apart - was directly involved in the most Bond films? I know Lois Maxwell must be up there having done all from DN to AVTAK and Desmond Llewellyn with GF to TWINE, but is there anyone else?

    died ( sadly I can't find his name at the moment )

    I remember reading that. Shame he didn't write his memoirs, or even an oral history. He must have had some great anecdotes.

    The late Derek Watkins, known as "Chops". James Bond's personal trumpeter.

    ("Chops" is musicians' slang, referring to someone's ability eg "He doesn't have the chops to play that song" or "I hope he has the chops for it". For someone to have that word as a nickname is a strong compliment.)

    ...the other story is that during an early studio session he distracted Cubby Broccoli by tapping him on one shoulder before darting in from the other side to steal his pork chops and mashed potatoes (with broccoli, of course).

    Probably an accountant who was on an apprenticeship in 1962 and just retired. Not the big names, that's for sure.
