Need advice please

What would be the approximate value of a collection of six color 8 X 10's autographed by each Bond actor in a framed package? There is NO certificate of authenticity regarding the signatures, but the item is being sold by a memoribilia shop that has been in business for decades. The 8 X 1O's are all photos of the actors as Bond.

Hi mate, even a certificate doesnt mean anything without photographic proof. A collector can tell compared to other signed items if they are authentic. You really need to either trust the back story provided or walk away. If geniue I would say £80-£100 per signature plus 15-20% as a complete collection. But if they are sold by a shop as authentic purchase with a credit card so that if they turn out to be fake later you can make a fraud claim with the credit card company and if the UK you are also protected by the consumer protection act.

Thank's for the imput.......much appreciated..........In regards to payment method, it would be a trade situation, not cash or credit card

No certificate? If the dealer won't back the autographs up then he isn't sure himself. Anyone can make a certificate, granted. However, big and reputed dealers usually issue a certificate, some even to return the item in case of doubt.

Connery is a tough hence valued signer, the others aren't that hard to come by.
If all pictures are the same format I'd be aware - it's almost too good to be true.

If the op is not able to provide clear pics of the item(s) no-one will be able to give him advice.

Like others said, Bond Autographs are very often faked and without a reputable certificate, the authenticity will always be in doubt.

So for the beginning post pics from the autographs and we see where we can go from there

If it's the same layout -- and I think I myself have seen variations on it -- then it probably came from Field of Dreams in the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace. They're reputable but their products are insanely over-priced. I understand that this is a trade but I can't imagine the declared value is realistic.

I don't have a pic of the item.......I was very sceptical of the Connery, given his history of distancing himself from Bond.....The owner explained that the autograph was obtained from Sean in the 1980's when he was playing in a police charity golf tournament.........The Connery pic itself is that famous bust pose of him holding the long nosed pistol next to his cheek .....Regarding the layout, the Craig pic is not included in the framed item..........The Dalton pic is the best pic of him as Bond that I've ever seen......

If the seller is not able/willing to provide you with pics at all, I'd stay away for miles from a deal.

I mean, seriously how does he want to do such a deal without pics?

To clarify, presumably you've seen the piece yourself and it's simply that you don't have a pic of it? Otherwise, if, in fact, you're dealing solely with a description, I'd have to agree it's too questionable.

Your initial description read as six images in a single layout. Now you say the Craig is loose. So it's five in a frame plus one not? Not a big deal but there's some impact to the value.

BTW, based on the layout I posted, frankly the matting is more valuable than the signatures.

Do you want an honest opinion (and I stress opinion)? I think it's not only questionable based on the fact that each pic is such a unique size, but it's also kind of tacky. At any rate, if it's a trade, I wouldn't part with anything too valuable for it...

And I could be very wrong about that, and maybe someone else can chime in with their opinion, but on first glance they just seemed a lot smaller than 8x10 to me...

The buyer noted in the opening post that they're all 8x10.

Although I haven't seen the piece in question, I have seen others at Field of Dreams and they are friggin' HUGE.

You remarked that the piece sounds tacky and I'm not going to pass judgement but to be honest, I think these layouts are totally OTT with matting that overpowers the content, etc. I see alot of props framed in this same way and if I owned them, the first thing I would do it tear them apart and simplify them. I have done the occasional over-matted piece but only when it was something so bold it needed a mat that competed.
