The Moonraker Coffin Assassin Actor?

I've searched the Internet unsuccessfully for the name of the actor who plays the Coffin Assassin in Venice in Moonraker (1979) so I thought I would ask my learned friends here at AJB if they know the name of the uncredited actor who stars in one of my favourite benign-bizarre scenes from the James Bond films.
"The tough man of the world. The Secret Agent. The man who was only a silhouette." - Ian Fleming, Moonraker (1955).

    Perhaps he was a member of the film crew or something as there was not much acting involved as I know they did that sometimes - one thinks of Bill Hill as Captain Nash in FRWL.

    As Moneypenny might say .....

    Indeed, though there is still some doubt about it in some quarters - personally I think it is him though replete with his shooting stick! :)) -{

    On the subject of knives, I remember reading the knives Jinx
    Throws in DAD would be terrible in real life as the handles are
    Full of big holes, so they couldn't be thrown straight. :D I
    Agree the "actor" may have been part of the Italian crew ? :)

    Just goes to show how these things don't work in real life - there should be a health warning with James Bond films that all is fantasy herein!

    The Bonds Films have always had an Atmosphere of Fantasy about them, it's what sets them apart from other Spy Thrillers -{

    Indeed, with pleasing asides of studied realism especially in the Connery, Lazenby, Dalton and Craig Bond eras. :) -{

    I'm going from memory here (it was 35 years ago!), but I think the name of the man in the coffin was John Gant.

    It would be a nice idea to have a coffin fitted out like
    The knife assassin from Moonraker. For whenever we
    Shuffle off this mortal coil ! :))

    I'm a sad git at times, I'll happily admit, but Barbel, I have to ask...how on earth do you remember something like that?

    (I am in awe...and slightly worried at the same time)

    It is truly frightening the amount of useless and trivial information that I store in my ancient, drink-sodden, worn out brain cells.
    On the other hand, I often forget useful things! :)

    (and thank you, very much)

    A friend of mine often says he can remember the starting XI for Manchester City vs Oldham Athletic in 1973, but occasionally forgets his eldest son's name.

    Watch Moonraker with Sir Roger's commentary track on. I could be mistaken, but I think he mentions the coffin assassin by name.

    I just checked the commentary and Sir Rog thinks (he's not sure) that the man's name is John Evans, from the Special Effects Dept.
