Golden Gun 1st Generation

All,

Just wondering what opinions on value of a 1st Generation Golden Gun would be worth? It doesn't have the display case, but does have the proper mahogany "wall plaque", along with gold the numbered plaque.

Not looking to sell at the moment, just wondering what opinions on value are?

Thanks, Chris

To confirm, you're asking about an SDS first gen, yes? I know BondCollection has also issued two editions, both of which also came in either a case or on a plaque.

I have the SD plaque version and with it, I don't feel the need to have the newer renditions of the GG. I paid $350 for it, which at the time (around 12 or 14 years ago by means of a most unexpected buyer-seller meet-up) I felt was a steal, but I don't know now based on demand and if that has lessened because of the influx of the new replicas. As far as accuracy, I am not sure which is better and frankly all those nuances are lost on me but I'm just happy that I can glance over to my shiny GG as I type this post.

can be as high as $2,500 then, but sadly with FE I think they are fairly about 800-1000 now - but if in great condition will be higher

    Kan,

Would you say $800 - $1000 is for 2nd gen and not 1st?

We still don't know which maker the original poster is asking after though I think it's a safe bet he means SDS.

Out of curiosity, I poked around on eBay history and can only find one from the last sixty days. It sold for $1,500 which I personally think is a bit high but probably in keeping with the current market. That model was in the case; I'd say the mounted would be a bit less.

I sold my first gen when the second came out; kinda wish I'd kept it now, just for the heck of it.

An Sd Studios Golden Gun in the walnut box for 1500$ is an absolute steal!!!!

The box itself goes around $ 900,--

There were only two or three bids. Keep in mind this was a first gen.

For that kinda money you could buy the crap gun from South America just for the case.

Sorry all, yes should have been clearer with the original post. I was asking the opinions of value on a 1st Generation SD Studios Golden Gun. I am located in the UK but haven't seen any online for sale for about a year so was just wondering on opinions of value that's all. As I say, it doesn't have a display box but does have the correct style wall plaque with the metal pins that the gun just sits on, and the correct numbered plaque.

I have both SD 1st and 2nd generations and also one of the 400 signature versions of the Factory Entertainment one as well. None are for sale at the moment regardless of "the right price" or otherwise, I was merely wondering on value in case I need to cash in some time in the future. Thanks for the guides on price though

    But that would not be original and not worth the money -{

I was being facetious ... though the original -- which I don't think is that critical to the value -- isn't worth $900 regardless; you could get the stock case and have the glass etched for fraction of that.

Nice :D I agree that the original is not worth the money, but the point is that there is not as many cases out there as guns, so IF you want an original $900 is about the going price.

Maybe going out and buying a stock one and having it etched would be cheaper, but to the collectors that I know have to have everything original, copies won't do.

Generally agreed but the case not being integral to the gun, I think is a slightly different, er case.

And I'd wager that, technically, there probably are as many cases as guns. For example, I don't use the case from either my rebreather or wrist gun and I'd bet alot of other collectors don't either. Regardless, if anybody wants mine, by all means, send me a check!
