I did old fashioned Wado Ryu Karate. {[] mixed with kick boxing !
Not styles for agents over 50 IMHO. We need to use gravity (a totally undeappreciated weapon) & balance as our venue. Plus it works as fitness.

:)) I remember being told the whole ethos of Wado Ryu was.
Not to be there when when the punch lands ! :)) hence a little
Twist of the foot moves your body a tiny angle, but just enough
To take you out of the line of attack. ;) still great fun !

welshboy78 - have you tried acupuncture? I had tendonitis on my left wrist and went for acupuncture treatment. Things kinda improved over 3 months of treatment... and then the pain suddenly stopped. If you're muscles/tendons are no longer inflamed, then I'm with chrisisall - you probably now need to work through all of your developed scar tissue and rebuild your strength. I had to do that with my left wrist, that was 2 years ago and its still not 100% better but it has improved tremendously.

No have not considered acupuncture (mainly due to nobody does it where I live!) How long was the treatment?? Im away on vacation soon so if its a one off thing then might look into it!!

I have to admit I have not helped things, not stuck to icing it or necking ibuprofen like the doctor ordered.

Its not as bad as it was a few weeks ago but I'm kinda stuck where to go next, the doctor (who I have little faith in) tells me to gently exercise whilst I'm worried it may need more rest as dont want to have it flare up again. I tried very light weights the other day and the motions where I can feel it ocurring is when:

I do any bicep kind of movement e.g. curl motion
Hold my arm out (think shoulder raises)

Also opening a bottle / jar etc

Off on holiday a week sat so maybe time in cool pools and doing nothing might do it some good! Also an excuse for the mrs to carry the suitcases too! :))

It's difficult, especially the diet because suddenly I have to stop eating crap like pizza's, cheesburgers and stuff... How long have you been going to the gym, I suppose you had no belly problems before you started lifting? I'm just curious how long does it take to grow arms and chest like this (usually guys say that it's about 2 years).

Ive been lifting consistently since about 2006, and yeah I grew up really skinny so all I had to do really was lift and eat massive amounts of food, and since my metabolism was and is so high I don't have to be that lenient with what I eat, though I probably should be. I cant say exactly how long it takes because everyone's different but It took me quite a bit since I was pretty lean. Since I don't have ravenous appetite though my body size is similar to Jamie Dornan's most of the time.

I see, thanks for the answer! Chance is I can look like Jason Mamoa one day... (he's the same height as me, DC is around 10-15cm shorter so it's really difficult to find a target at which I should be aiming at with my body). Anyway - currently I'm eating Haribo Happy Cola, a Kit-Kat, a Milka Tuc bar and a 7Days - I freak out when I have some stress and I loose my track always :/ I have an exam coming up (the same one I failed one month ago) so I feel pretty much stressed all the time. :/

Yeah see you have higher physical aspirations then me, that guys BIG, im not really too bothered about being "huge". it may help you or not but my half-assed "diet" is pretty simple in that I never ever eat any candy, chocolate, dairy products, cookies, cakes, and just limit bread and rarely drink any kinda carbonated drink. And with that I can eat pretty much everything else in mass and not gain a lot of fat but again everyone's different.

I don't think he's that huge always Dean, I think you're basing your opinion on his Game of Thrones appearance. I just want to have a remarkable chest and arms but I don't want to be as huge as, say, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (who also shares the same height with me). DC on the other hand is smaller, so even though he has a huge looking chest he might have something around 125cm I guess? That would be ok already for me (I have currently around 105cm) but I need probably a bigger chest to look like Bond with my height! :)

As for the diet - I'm trying, seriously. The fact that I lost around 7kg already is a proof that I'm trying but it's still bad, I have another 7kg or something to go. I eat sometimes healthy, but sometimes I'm loosing it and than I'm just like Pacman you know :/ I believe that it's not about "a diet" as people like to call it, I have to change my eating habits for good and that's not easy. I already eliminated energy drinks (from which I was truly addicted - currently I'm 3 weeks clean so GREAT!), I guess now it's time to eliminate candies/chocolate... Thanks for the good words man!

EDIT: btw. does somebody know a good brand making supplements based in the UK? Since I'm obsessed with everything that's English I would love to buy some English whey protein, lol!

Over the years I've used ON (Optimum Nutrition), PhD & Reflex (very good IMO). Recently used a company called The Protein Works & have to say their customer service & product range is superb, plus the whey is very decent quality. Fairly sure there's a brand called Trek in Poland?

Im not one for spending hours in a gym ect ,ive done my hours in gyms,(Rugby,Football , Police ) my idea of keeping fit ,is a nice big walk around the local lake with the dog, stopping off to feed the ducks. I find this very calming ,good for the old blood pressure ect,.Very therapeutic here in our little oasis of green so close to London :)

I've heard about Trek but Olimp Labs has the majority of the market.

Finally started bench pressing again after months of avoidance due to fairly major shoulder issues. Nothing particularly heavy, more focusing on the tempo and contraction. Amazing how fatigued you get after so long away from an exercise. Seemed to go ok, but I'll know more in the morning probably! :))
