Lucky guy! And good to see how well. Corinne Clery and Yaphet Kotto have aged. (Corinne Clery IMO was Sir Roger's hottest Bond girl). ;%

{[] Thanks for posting moose. -{ how charming and entertaining is Yaphet, I
Was laughing out loud on his first night watching British TV, sex everywhere ! :))
and how humble he is at saying he was just lucky to get some of the most
Influential movies, changing the perceptions of the black leading man. It was
Also really funny him saying he never thought as a kid he'd be scared to death
Of a few little old women.
    Great interview. {[]

Last night I had the great opportunity to meet Jane Seymour. She was doing an art exhibition at our mall and was extremely friendly, enough to take the time to sign my LALD poster and take a picture. Very nice woman and great artist! You will notice her Solitaire portraits in the background of the picture.

I met Roger Moore when he did a book presentation (My word is my bond) at his Dutch publisher. It was a very small setting and I had time to talk with him a bit about his work for UNICEF and about the book. I had already read the English version that came out a few weeks before the presentation of the Dutch version.

I also met Desmond Llewelyn and Denise Richards at the Dutch premiere of TWINE. It was only a few months before Desmond Llewelyn died.

I've met Roger Moore - at a book signing at Bluewater.

We were not really allowed much time, but I said how much of a fan I was... he looked me in the eye with his 'Thank you' and he signed 2 books for me, one for my Dad and one for my bf.

I've also met and knew David Spedding (former head of Mi6) - he was posted in Amman, Jordan, the same time my father was. My father was the Military Attaché.

He was known as the "hush hush" man... my brothers and I kicked around with his sons... in fact there was a group of us (a lot of the diplomats had kids the same age) - it was a brilliant time. Jordan is an amazing country... we had a blast. Plus I had diplomatic immunity... got me out of all sorts of trouble B-)

Sorry to come to this thread late but as a newcomer I'm trawling through all the old threads to see if anything I wanted to post had already been discussed as my knuckles were firmly rapped by Barbel after posting my first thread which had already been discussed many times before (only kidding, Barbel) :))

I was eating dinner at the Ramada Jarvis hotel in Birmingham (2001 or 2002 I cannot remember) when George Lazenby sat at the next table. I politely said hello and said he was my favourite Bond in which he was very pleased. He said meet me in the bar after dinner and he subsequently joined me for drinks - he said he was signing autographs at the NEC for the weekend at a memorabilia show. We had a great evening and were joined by more stars such as Richard Kiel and Britt Ekland.

About 3am in the morning I was woken by the fire alarm and everyone was herded out into the car park freezing our nether regions off! I spotted George and managed to get next to him when I said "I bet this never happened to the other fella" his laughter was magnificent as he slapped me on the back - I can imagine how hard he could punch after feeling that :))

And it is true that he was always my favourite Bond not became my favourite because I met him!
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

Don't worry about the knuckles, First time I got punished.
He strapped me to a seatless chair and got a carpet beater ....... ;)

    Lovely story, CHB!
I was on business in LA quite a few years ago, may have been 2005, and someone told me that "A James Bond guy" was in the hotel to do a convention the next day. I figured it was anyone but George, as he is the rarest of the breed...so, lo and behold, turns out to be him!
I run to a trophy shop, have them rush me a brass plate that I would be installing in the Aston DBS that I was going to have someday (see how positive thought works...)
I knew one of the vendors, and he got me in early whilst the private signings of items were going on.
Spoke w GL, and had him sign my plate. He loved the idea that I was so positive about wanting to have a DBS someday.
Told me he loved the car, and posed for a pic signing the plate.
STIFF handshake! I think he really was a tough customer.
    Great storoes, cheers!

Unfortunately I must announce that I have stopped signing TND themed pictures.

The demand has really gotten out of hands and people made fortunes selling those on ebay.
Hope that this does not come across as snobby, I am still the down to earth guy that I used to be :D

Actually , it *did* happen to the other fella when 007 set off the fire alarm on purpose in TB :))

Brilliant! I have never connected that scene before now - every time I watch TB I will think of that night in Birmingham!

It was never your signing, but rather WHAT you wrote on them, and
Some of those cartoons were very disturbing ! :))

I have been a professional stage actor for twelve years.
Actually wrote the Bond fan film "Dead On Arrival" and helped with several others. A guy that I performed with and know very well is filming a movie with Brosnan. Closest I have gotten.

Spotted Terri Hatcher in a local restaurant.
Normally I let celebs be but a Bond Girl is a Bond Girl.
She was just having wine with a friend so dared to ask for an autograph.
Like the rest of us, I'd heard she could be testy but was actually incredibly nice, asked for the spelling of my name.

Most of my 007 player experiences have been at official meet 'n greets. At the last AutoGraphica I attended the dinner where I chanced to be seated with Corinne Clery. Since it wasn't entirely planned, I'm counting that one. I always take anyone talking about how they did their own stunts with a grain of salt but she did tell a Moonraker story I hadn't heard before.

At the last Pinewood BBQ it was a given I'd meet Lamont but it was still an interesting encounter: I'd seen him at other events but as I'd recently acquired a prop I needed to discuss, this time around I was anxious to talk with him. I showed him a picture of the piece which he immediately recognized and then, before I could ask, stated who the subcontractor was (the detail I most needed).
