We just watched John Carter (Blu Ray) and I have to say it was mostly brilliant. And I also just noticed a thematic connection to Somewhere In Time:
Carter gets sent back to his former existence, just like Collier, and both have to die figuratively/literally die to get back to their loves...
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

Just watched Iron Man 3 for the first time. Fairly awesome. Way better than 2/not as simply cool as 1. Shane Black is a GREAT writer IMO.

My younger brother made me watch Training Day (2001) with him, on TNT and it was kind of boring because of the censored language in the televised version of the film.

You should see the uncensored version, it's (censored) awesome ;)

Although many years ago I made the mistake of ( accidentally) buying

Why didn't you download 48 Hours off of ITunes instead? Then you would've gotten the uncensored version.

Connery just has a way of making every film he's in better (except perhaps The Avengers!)

My mom made me watch a movie on Comcast's Xfinity On-Demand with her, and we both chose 1999's Bowfinger.
    I hate Anne Hathaway's Catwoman.

After Eddie & his men left, Sinclair cut that candle in half just like he was popping that balloon in TLD, almost in tears.

Proof indeed that you've been brainwashed by Higgins. I can
No longer accept any of your views. :# as they come from

The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies

Good looking film, McKellen is superb of course, and Freeman continues on his journey to major star. The caves feel endless, with "real" depth.

    But

Jeez, it's padded beyond belief. Events that should be dealt with in a shot or two go on for ten minutes, one or two lines of dialogue become long-winded explanations, characters with no real function are given massive screen time....

I realise it's Jackson's style to go slow, but this takes it to the absolute limit. It was a poor artistic decision to make three LOTR-length movies out of such thin material.

Its prob been mentioned but anybody seen Interstellar??

Enjoyed it quite a bit, however right at the end where things get strange (the explanation / solution) sort of blew it a little for me.

Quite slow placed (typical Nolan) build-up and then things get cracking, possibly a bit too much unnecessary dialogue also but it was a treat visually and had a nice score.

Overall a very enjoyable film, surprised as I didn't expect much

    Darkman .

Haven't seen it in years. Still a great superhero film. A cross between
Batman and Phantom of the opera. Liam Neeson as the brutalised
Hero, who gets revenge on the gangsters who helped destroy his
    Life.

Would love to see this again - saw it when it first came out and never seen again! When was that late 80s?
