Here is the official trailer of Total Recall, due for release in the US on the 3rd August. A remake of the 1990 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Euroamerica and New Shanghai fight for political power. A factory worker (Colin Farrell as Douglas Quaid) begins to suspect he is a spy whose memory and personality were erased and replaced, though he is unaware which side of the fight he is on.
That Total Recall trailer looks brilliant, I hope this is the big hit to revive Colin Farrel's Career -{
I used to dislike him a bit for his sort of cocky and egotistical nature, but in the last 3 or so years, he has become a favorite of mine. He seems to have grown up a bit and taken some smaller, independent, and serious roles. I have to agree with the critics of late, that the new and improved Colin Farrell is worth keeping around.
As if Prometheus weren't enough, it looks like Ridley Scott is moving forward with a planned sequel to Blade Runner. While no plot or cast yet exist, Hampton Fancher is now apparently on board to develop a story. For those not familiar with the name, Hampton Fancher worked on many of the early drafts of the Blade Runner script and did the bulk of the work in translating Philip Dick's novel into a workable screenplay. Some more info on the planned sequel to Blade Runner. In the article below, Ridley Scott is quoted as saying that work on Blade Runner 2 has begun. "We have a very good take on it. And we'll definitely be featuring a female protagonist." It is not clear if Harrison Ford will be reprising his role of Rick Deckard.
With the release barely a week away a new featurette has been released focusing on the state of the art spaceship Prometheus. Contributions from Ridley Scott and production designer Arthur Max amongst others.
Saw Prometheus today; I give it a thumbs up, more for the visuals as the film never even approaches the inventiveness of the original Alien. More extensive thoughts over on the Last Film Seen thread....
Not sure I like a Blade Runner sequel idea. I suppose revisiting that setting could be great, but I really like the standalone power of the original. I guess doing it with a different protagonist may give it a good chance.

It definitely takes place in the same universe and involves some of the same elements but Prometheus is very much its own standalone story. Yes you get clarification on some aspects of Alien but that makes up a very small part of the movie. Try to take it on its own merits and I think you'll have a far better experience.
As to a Blade Runner sequel, I'm also ambivalent. While I'd love to take another peek at 2019 Los Angeles and I'm sure Ridley Scott could create another riveting vision of that world, he really needs to hook up with some better writers. You look at what Lindelof and Spaihts did with Prometheus compared to what we got in Alien and the original Blade Runner and its pretty sad how low the bar has fallen in regard to screenplays these days.

I agree. I went with a couple of friends and one of them had trouble trying to tie in this film with the first two Alien films. I noted I enjoyed it more simply because I suspected this was much more of a stand alone story, which it is. - Very enjoyable but has a paper mache plot, and the pacing is all over the shop! A good trip to the cinema though.

And in 2008, Sky One (UK) announced it had commissioned two 60-minute scripts for a potential series but two years later said it had decided not to commission it.

Mustard Yellow = Command
Blood Red = Engineering, Security*, Support Systems (comms etc)
Powder Blue = Medical and Science.
For Star Trek TNG, the colours were changed round a bit. Those changes applied to DS9 and VGR as well:
Cranberry Red = Command
Dark Gold = Engineering, Security, Support Systems (comms etc)
Turquoise Green = Medical and Science.
* Hence the slang term "red shirt" for the unfortunate character who you know will get the chop. It is used in reference to other shows too.

CBS has announced Alex Kurtzman will Executive Produce their new Star Trek tv series, due on their US network channel in 2017.
No word on timeframe or whether Prime Universe, Ahrahmsverse or neither at this stage. It will be seperate from the curent Abrahms films.
I am on the fence until those points are clarified.
