Are you glad that Sony & MGM own James Bond instead of Disney?

I mean what would Bond be like if it was owned by Walt Disney Pictures? Would Bond motion pictures reference some Walt Disney cartoons, like the Avengers: Age of Ultron teaser trailer did?

Disney has generally had a poor track records with live action films since Walt passed. I think the films would suffer greatly if Disney did anything except, maybe, release them.

Are you worried about the upcoming Star Wars films and spin-offs? Because Star Wars and Lucasfilm are owned by Walt Disney Pictures now...

IF Disney owned the Bond franchise, I would imagine it would become very cheesy ,and would get all the locations wrong ,
but the Bond ride in 5D would be amazing in Disney world :)
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

To be honest I would have been horrified of the thought post Return of the Jedi. Star Wars used to be my life when I was a kid.

Since The Lucas prequels I kind of dont care, the damage had already been done!!! I actually have high hopes for this new one though. JJ is not stupid and seems to be giving us want we really want, Falcon, Tie Fighters etc

I think it's more likely that the James Bond film franchise might end up in the hands of Warner Bros. or Universal Studios instead of Disney. Because Bond doesn't really fit within the Disney mold does he?

Due to 007's penchant for PG-13 sex, violence and alcoholism, I'd find it highly unlikely that Disney would ever touch the Bond franchise with a ten-foot pole.

But supposing that we did? We'd probably end up with something tonally similar to the Marvel movies like Iron Man and Captain America. And that wouldn't be the worst thing in the world...

That's why I said it's probably more likely that Bond would fall into the hands of Warner Bros. or Universal Studios because Sony is dying. The company (Sony) has sustained losses and they're having trouble keeping their movie division together let alone their video game division. Sony needs to get their act together or they're gonna die and take the James Bond franchise down with them.

Truthfully, I couldn't care less. I was 10 when the movie debuted, and like almost every kid in my generation, lined up around the block to see it over and over. I thought it was great on that level; when I saw it again as a young adult, at the behest of a grad school buddy, I came out of the theater thinking "I don't recall it being that dumb, that empty."

But with J.J. "I'll out market Steven Spielberg" Abrams at the helm, I have no doubt it will make tons of money. He's not a filmmaker so much as that guy in the furniture store trying to sell you a couch, only his couch will cost a billion dollars.

Not to get off topic, but you might like the next director (Rian Johnson - Star Wars Episode VIII) much better. Since Rian Johnson directed Looper (2012) with Joesph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis.

I'm not talking about the past, by the way. I'm talking about the present, because what's done is done. MGM acquired the rights to Casino Royale, but I believe it was Sony who bought out MGM. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

But right now Sony is hurting and I believe there is a chance that Bond could possibly end up in the hands of Disney but it's more likely it might end up in the hands of Warner Bros. or Universal Studios.

The one good thing I'd like about the Bond franchise being under Disney control is the merchandizing and to quote Auric Goldfinger, "I welcome any enterprise that will increase my stock," ...in Bond collectibles, that is.

That's one way to look at it. Especially IF the Disney produced Bond movies would have little to no quality control.
