I tried to get a Commander from the End, and received an error message about Barbour jackets not allowed outside the EU. Since when? Maybe I can get from Kafka?

    JimboBond,
Try Aspecto, as mentioned a few posts up. They ship to the States.

    Kind regards,

Thank you Craig, I ordered from Kafka. Thanks again!

Great! You'll be happy with them as well. I believe I purchased one of my To Ki Tos from them. One thing to note, if your jacket is shipping via FedEx or DHL, you'll have to pay Customs duties on it. I think my bill was somewhere around $40.

    Best,
    Craig

In 6th episode of this season of Supernatural, Dean Winchester is wearing the Barbour Commander Jacket. Dean Winchester has inspired a lot of jacket sales over the years. I wonder if the Lodge Jacket will see some good sales numbers this holiday season.

Just in case anyone still hadn't picked one up

Kafka as in Kafka.co.uk? If so I can walk there in about two min and have never been in lol! Guess I'll have to pop round now and see what a medium fits like as, I have the to ki to in Large. I think it fits in the shoulders though a little tight but quite loose around my waist.

    Congrats Ian!

I was really on top of stuff last year and had the Barbour in hand the August before the film opened. I just had it rewaxed and I'm kind of nervous to wear it in the car - it seems like I'm going to get the wax all over everything! Anyone have any experience with this?

Yes, you get wax over everything :)) Avoid leather seats.

Agree, its one of the reasons why I never purchased one , it would be havoc on the beige Dakota :D

Thankfully my leather seats in my Hyundai S3 have been unaffected by any wax transfer

Thanks! This is actually a real bargain and I'm trying my hardest to resist buying it because I can't justify £299 on a coat but it's very tempting.

Having sourced an XL Dept. B version of this jacket, I'm now looking to 'To Ki To-ise' it, so I've already got a tailor to run up the front flap, using some 6oz material from an old Barbour that was in poor condition, but I'm now looking for a hood, so if anyone out there has, or knows where there's a Lodge jacket hood going, there's money waiting here for it!

Reply here or PM me please!! :)

I had the same idea. Finding a Tokito hood is going to be impossible but I know a fairly decent tailor and she might be able to make one from scratch if the blueprints were available.

Fo those of you looking for a Tokito hood - I have one that has never been used. PM me if you're interested and I'm sure we can sort something out.

    Cheers

I sold my hood on these forums just a couple of months ago - it sat with no interest for a while! :))

Its funny those of us who have the hood ditch them in the corner because we don't want them and those without want them to be more SA?

To me the world has gone mad

    Cheers :-)

P.S and of couse I have one never used and still in the original bag somewhere!

Has anyone ever tried the Ashby jacket? The Commander is probably too far out of my price range so I'm looking for an alternative.
  • Asp9mmAsp9mm Over the Hills and Far Away.Posts: 7,485MI6 Agent
Try the Lutz. It's much closer and a really nice jacket.

Thanks for the heads up. Being in the US is really a pain when it comes to ordering a Barbour. I found a couple of sites that it have it but won't ship Barbour outside of Europe.

I've got a couple of Ashby jackets, they're very nice and quite fitted but very different to the commander.
There is a quilted version of the commander that is about half the price (£100 here)

I can second that. I have an Ashby and it's very good but cut very tight in the shoulders.
