Ever taken a James Bond shower?

In the books, Bond will often take either a cold shower or a very hot shower followed by an ice cold one.

I've also heard this technique will ramp up your immune system.

Ever been brave enough to try one? or make it a habit?

Never taken a Bond shower. I would like to take a Bond shower similar to the one in Skyfall.

Damn. When I read the title of this thread, I thought the question was going to be whether I have ever showered with Kim Basinger. I haven't. Nor have I showered with Tanya Roberts, sat clothed in the shower with Eva Green, walked in on Maud Adams in the shower, or showered on a conveyor belt after a visit to a radioactive swamp. :#

    Never taken a hot-then-cold shower either. :D

That would be funny if Bond instinctively turned on the cold water while showering with a dame. Then you would really get to hear Tanya Roberts scream. :))

I found an article that states 7 Reasons why a cold shower is beneficial:

    http://www.medicaldaily.com/benefits-cold-showers-7-reasons-why-taking-cool-showers-good-your-health-289524

    1. Increases Alertness
    2. Refines Hair and Skin
    3. Improves Immunity and Circulation
    4. Stimulates Weight Loss
    5. Speeds Up Muscle Soreness and Recovery
    6. Eases Stress
    7. Relieves Depression

I'm not clear on what Bond's reasoning was, but he would certainly benefit from items #1 #5 and #6

Of all the Bond actors, only Connery and Craig seem the type of who would advocate an ice cold shower. IMO

Didn't someone ask this question before? I take the Bond shower. It does wake you up in the morning.

Just don't pull a Connery and leave the water running while you wander off into the bedroom.

...sat clothed in the shower with Eva Green...

    That's a Bond shower I wouldn't pass :))

I like taking cold showers in the Summer. I'll do it if I happen to shower after a really good workout too. It took me a bit of training to adjust to taking cold showers after a hot one though... which I learned how to do at the Korean Spas. They have pools of hot/cold water and I would watch women plunging themselves between the two back and forth. Though I must say it feels really good after spending a lot of time in a hot sauna/hot pool of water.

I assumed Bond did cold showers to benefit from Hot/Cold Therapy (or also referred as contrast bath therapy) to reduce stress and body inflammation.

Every time I visit England, there just never seems to be enough hot water to last for the entire duration of shower.... :)) :)) :))

I don't know why it is, but eventhough water in the tap is never as cold as lake or sea water in winter, taking a cold shower is much more uncomfortable than going for ice swimming.

I've been doing it for about a month now, with the last minute of the shower being cold. The more you do it, the better it gets. Its actually known as a Scottish Shower. Many of my (long dead) Scot grandparents use to do it.
Here's an interesting article I read a while back on it.
