How safe is paypal ?

Sadly I've reached my limit on PayPal :# , but there's still so much stuff I'd
Like to buy :)) . If I link my Bank account to it I can continue to spend. Now
Given I've always been told never to give over these details to anyone etc.
Has anyone done this with PayPal, is it safe to do?
I'm an old git so not very hip to the way of the internet, except for looking
At art ! ;) so any help or advice would be much appreciated. -{

    Really safe.

    As in if you get away with murder, Paypal will get you off the hook and reimburse you.

    As someone who has ebay feedback somewhere in the 100's, I haven't had a single issue with it.

    Seriously, Paypal will resolve just about every practical issue you will have. You won't find a better medium.

    I'm like you TP (although this side of Methusellah) and am very wary about these things. However, I also reached the time when I needed to connect Paypal to my bank account. After much gnashing of teeth and many sweaty palms I did it and haven't had a problem. That was probably 2-3 years ago (have had Paypal for probably over a decade). No complaints at all...although I do still have sweaty palms.

    I imagine it's as safe as you can get - you are protected and all codes are encrypted. That said, I don't use it very often. :#

    I'm pretty much the same...but if you are wary, just keep a very close eye on your account...but it does appear to work well -{

    Ive been thru tons of Paypal disputes over the last decade from people trying it on with me. Paypal can be a pain in the arse with fees and the like etc but overall they have settled in my favour eventually so guess I should not complain

    If I link my bank account, can I still pay with my credit card ? Or is the
    Money taken directly from my account ?

    In my experience, it will default to pull from your bank account but you can manually over-ride it to come from your credit card each time.

    I used Paypal to reimburse a hooker I slept with on the Goldhawk Road. She gave me herpes. I contacted Paypal and they wouldn't touch it! Wish she hadn't touched it.

    They wanted nothing to do with me.

    Seriously, :D I've had no probs with them but do research. Really, you hook it up to a Visa card don't you? How else do you pay? But it is as well to keep an eye on your statements I guess, and if you are broke there is conversely less motivation to do that.

    Oh there has been news of a Paypal rip off where they sign you up to a Premium, oh hold on that's Amazon isn't it?
