I could be wrong here, but wasn't Luke Skywalker trying to join the Academy or some such (which would have been as part of the Empire/as a storm trooper) before he was side tracked into joining the rebellion? If that's the case, it doesn't necessarily follow that all storm troopers would have to resemble the Maori chap who was cloned in the prequels??? (Which I understand to be the plot hole that some of these fan boys claim to have uncovered).

The Clone troopers were... er... clones. Stormtroopers were made up of humans from throughout the galaxy and what was left of the clone process. They were only human though as the Emperor was racist. And yes, Luke was going to join up too.
At the end of ROTJ, only the Emperor was defeated, not the Empire as a whole. Plenty of Generals and suck ups willing to take over his role.

Star Wars producers have announced the name of the new stand-alone film to be directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones. TB2 recently brought to my attention an article that Jamie Anderson wrote on his new Thunderbirds Are Go series, where he said that CGI doesn't always have the charm that real world models have.
Don't get me wrong, the art of CGI is truly remarkable, and virtually (<-- pun intended) anything is possible. But I can't help but think how cool things could have been if they were filmed using models and miniatures.
I'm afraid the days of Stears and Meddings are at an end. It appears I'm a timex watch in a digital age
