"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
Dealing with the public requires the patience of a saint. I spent three years dealing with them and even as someone renowned for my patience and customer service, I once lost it with someone and shouted at him "Are you listening to me?" Ironically, he didn't even seem to notice. My co-workers did however, and were both shocked...and in awe! Alas, on another occasion when I was nothing but polite and professional I was accused of being rude and ignorant. Fortunately, I had witnesses who knew otherwise. Hang in there OAS, it's a no-win industry!
)
I once had a lady complain about my attitude, I explained to her it
Wasn't attitude but Frustration as I had explained to Her at least
Six times that the ticket machine would take her through all the
Stages of buying a ticket, but it would not print one for her ! Unless
She'd pre- booked and had a booking number, then it would print
A ticket. 8-)
I wouldn't have minded but everyone else had accepted my explanation
First time and moved to another machine, while she was actually holding
Up other customers who could have use the machine.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
I once had to deliver something to a customer who was renowned for being very particular about things. The guy who was down to go couldn't because the customer had banned them during the previous delivery. Like a lamb to the slaughter, I was sent in his place.
I arrived on time, was polite, courteous and professional at all times, even calling this customer ma'am as I was briefed that this was what she preferred...
I did the delivery, carried out the needed checks and sorted out the paperwork. The customer was pleased, everything was ok and before I left I made a very pointed effort to ask her if everything was ok, she was happy and if there was anything else I could do while I was there.
Nope, everything fine, totally happy and thank you so much for doing such a great job. Brilliant, job done.
I left for my next job of the day, 5 mins of being on the road, head office called to ask how it went, so I told them. Apparently straight after I'd left, this customer had ring up and complained that I'd been the polar opposite, and that I too was banned.

I remember in an interview Norman Wisdom said he once had a job in a big
Department store and part of his job was to get sacked !
If an awkward customer demanded something be done about the shoddy way
They'd been treated, he'd be sent for ( to pretend he was in charge of that section)
So could be " sacked" for letting the stores standards down. )

Pure genius!
I can imagine Norman shifting uncomfortably ("what have you got to say for yourself? Can you see how you've let the company down??")head down and walking off like a naughty schoolboy when he was dismissed, looking sadly back over his shoulder (before doing a pratfall)!

Watching BBC news today on the political slot about the election
They were interviewing Joey Essex ! Now I'm sure Joey is a lovely guy
but I wouldn't trust him to pull up his zip correctly.

AOS all I can say, is as others much, much, much older than me have already

For the time being, before getting something else, fake a bit of contrition, say how
Personal stress etc, caused you to act out of character, how much you love the company and hope to rise through the employment structure of the firm. Then when you have another job
Set up, tell them to " Shove it up their ....... ".

AO, I don't have to tell you this but prepare yourself & present your case clearly & concisely. If you are in a union (not many people are nowadays) have your rep there. In my long experience if I've learned one lesson it's that things have a tendency of working out for the best in the end. If things don't go as planned it's not the end of the world, if they do it may just jolt you into thinking 'I'm better than this' & inspire you to search for something more worthwhile.
I'm not in possession of the facts surrounding this case but, unless the management are gunning for you, you may escape with a formal written warning. Also a point to remember is that you have a whole raft of employment legislation behind you if you feel you have been treated unfairly. Before you attend your meeting it may be an idea to pop into your local citizens advice centre to explain the circumstances surrounding this to them.
I am part of the Union, and I'll have a word with tomorrow until Saturday, I'm moving it into the back of my mind.
That's good. Having your rep there as an advocate will carry a lot of weight. Also I'm glad to hear you're not worrying unduly. Worrying won't solve anything.
HI AOS , as Staggy says, you are entitled to representation ,you can even ask for a colleague to sit in with you . You will probably be seen buy a couple of silly tarts from HR , better known as human rubbish ,make sure you get a copy of the transcript .and when theve finished underline /cross out the blank bit of un-used paper ,this will stop them adding any thing on after you have left the room .Remember if they havnt got taped evidence of what you said ,its just the customers word against yours .and you know what a load of vindictive mental cases customers are. But don't go and say poke your job ,because if you make yourself un-employed ,you cant claim dole for 6 weeks .best of luck buddy ,
Good points. I suppose you could request that the interview be recorded & do so on your phone.
Also AS mentioned the dole thing, in actual fact I think it's six months not six weeks. Forget that anyway, Have your union rep there. It may be wise to also ask any colleagues who witnessed the incident to write a short statement giving their account.
