I can see that, yes. And of course Brosnan thought that the Bond role was his in 1986. Rewriting history as it were. That opens up a whole new can of worms. :D

There is some Truth in that, GE acts like LTK never happened (Even though I've always thought that Bonds 'Rea-valuation' in the PTS was to see if Bond could be trusted as a 00 Agent again after going off the Rails in the previous Film)

An another interesting idea I'd never thought of before.

Have any stupid codename theory supporters come up with the theory that Bond is actually killed at the beginning of YOLT and is then replaced with another man using the codename James Bond? It's obviously not the case, but it sounds like the kind of theory people would make up.

Please don't give them any ideas as they need little encouragement! The PTS of Skyfall comes to mind too in this regard too. :D

But in SF there is evidence that post-dead Bond was shot as there is still a bullet in him.

It's like Connery coming back after Lazenby. Connery's return in DAF doesn't give less credibility to Lazenby's Bond, especially since his marriage is brought up in Moore and Dalton films. Apart from Lazenby's line in his PTS, the character doesn't know that he's played by different actors, so I don't think it matters that the GE PTS takes place before Dalton's films. It just places Brosnan as Bond at the time he was originally hired for the role.

Yes, you are right. I guess that I overlooked that in my haste. I just saw a link with YOLT here. :)

There's certainly the link with YOLT. In YOLT, I he mentions the gunmen in Hong Kong, so that would kill any theory about Bond being a different person, just as there is to kill any codename theory theories. But that line doesn't factor into the story like Bond's bullet wound does in Skyfall.

If Bond is a Time Lord OHMSS must take place chronologically after DAF, the trauma of Tracey's murder causes the Lazenby Bond to regenerate into the Moore incarnation. Maybe the Craig incarnation was suffering from post regenerative amnesia or was fobwatched or something. Blofeld is a time Lord as well, he regenerates at the end of YOLT presumably to disguise himself as Henderson (we know some Time Lords can control their regeneration, Romana being one example). Bond and Blofeld don't recognize each other in OHMSS but then we've seen the Doctor, Master and Rani not recognize each other on certain occasions.
