    I agree. I don't think Ian Fleming meant James Bond to resemble Jay Leno. Besides, Fleming's Bond wore knitted ties and would have worn a better-fitting shirt collar (higher on the neck).

    Is this really supposed to be Bond? Looks like Don Draper. And why is he in New York?

    At first glance I didn't get a James Bond vibe, I got a Felix Leiter vibe.

    I think Fleming really wanted the Reader to interpret Bond's physical Appearance in there own Way. He gave us the Basics, but the Reader built upon that -{

    Agreed, Fleming just gave us a basic outline, of Bond's physical appearance,
    I'm guessing in a way for us to fill in the blanks with our own, features ? :D
    He spent more time on Bond's character, his intelligence, tanacity and
    courage. -{

    These drawings can more accurately be discribed as Almonds interpretation of Flemings Bond. If we could all draw no doubt we would each come up with a variation on a theme. Whilst not techically bad works IMO they bear absolutely no resemblance to my own image of the literary Bond.

    Fleming himself described Bond in enough detail for him not to be drawn this way, perhaps if the artist had done a picture of Hoagy Carmichael complete with scar etc then most folks would 'get it'.

    It looks like Almond tried to combine Hoagy Carmichael with Ian Fleming, but that gigantic chin is what's mostly wrong. Fleming and Carmichael had large chins, but this illustrate Bond has a deformed chin! And the suit looks American and it's too light to be navy. Bond only wore American clothes in Live and Let Die, so that would make sense for the New York drawing, but his suits were still navy.

    To me it looks like a drawing of Stephen Moyer (True Blood)

    Maybe you could in the 60s? It's on the same street, just 30 blocks away.

    That's the San Remo at 75th Street. The Ghostbusters building is in the 60s. There are four buildings on Central Park West with a two tower design, but the Ghostbusters building isn't one of them.

    I went on a date with girl who lived in that building a few years ago. There are many famous people who live there, and it's one of the most exclusive buildings in the Upper West Side. It's certainly an iconic building in its own right, so don't feel your film is wasted. I'm around that area fairly often whenever I go for a walk in the park. I live on the opposite side of the park from there (but not on the park).
