The novel version, perhaps simply because we learn more about her (the "Cardboard Hero" story helps).

Domino's "hero" story started out cute enough, but she rambled on-and-on to the point where I really felt sorry for Bond having to politely endure that drivel.

"Are you listening to me? You are not bored having to listen about my Hero?" asked Domino.

"I'm only jealous," Bond lied, but in his head he was thinking, "This girl is completely nuts and this hero story is boring and it sucks."

Because ultimately, Fleming considered this dialogue (or more like a monologue) worthy of putting on paper, and considering that he himself had been around the block a few hundred times in terms of men-women relationships it's safe to assume that to Bond as well, this was all stimulating speech, coupled with the face-to-face interaction with this beautiful creature.

I remember back in the day, whenever I was lucky enough to be conversing for the first time with a girl whom I found to be extremely attractive (including my then wife-to-be, in case she's standing over my shoulder), "durka, durka, durka" sounded sexy and intellectually stimulating. There must definitely be some complex psychology involved in the process when one is interacting with someone they really like who cranks up the adrenaline, endorphins and pheromones in your body all at the same time, lol!

Speaking of Lisi, I stated in other posts that I thought she would have made a Tracy much closer to Fleming's idea of the character.

Yes, she would have been a great at playing any of the Fleming blonde heroines who was not British. After watching Repulsion, I also think Catherine Deneuve would have been a great Tracy, obviously because she's French, blonde and she was really good playing a "cool" neurotic; she would actually be an improvement over the subdued kind of neurotic personality of Tracy's in the novel.

Bond's secret is that he's not desperate. At all. Makes a guy a chick magnet.
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

I know. It was the low point of Thunderball for me.

I'm torn between the novel version and the Thunderball movie version. If pressed, possibly the novel one gets my vote...

Age hasn't effected this process for me as yet. I realize it's all male biology - our bodies are built for reproducing as many offspring as possible, so we're wired to be overloaded with endorphins whenever we are close to and conversing with someone we find desirable. With age and marriage I've recognized this impulse, so along with that immediate rush of feelings comes the wisdom that I'm in the presence of another human who comes with a character who may seem appealing at first in many ways but who may just have as many negatives in their psychological makeup and lifestyle. This awareness goes a long way in lowering the effectiveness of that attraction to the point where I can put it aside and just focus on the immediate social interaction and not the physical one. Then again, knowing one has a great wife also aids in that effect. When one is still single and living on the edge like Bond, it's not as easy to do.
