Nope. Trouble is Bumtoys, that I've grown accustomed to your MR cam, it makes a great wedge to prop my uneven bench up.

I thought it was quite good to be fair. The RNIB's charity workshop loved the challenge!

Anyone know if the front and rear springs are the same size? If they are, anyone know what the size is?

Can anyone answer a couple of questions?

    - in the middle armrest where the weapon controls are found, there's a small silver knob that can be slid forwards and backwards. Doesn't seem to do anything, what's it for?

    - inside each door there's a box near the A pillar with a slider, again it doesn't seem to do anything, should it?

    - did the car phone get ditched?

    - how do you switch on the lights? Do they stay on for a set time?

    - any idea on what voltage the lights run on?

    Cheers,

    MG

    Hi Jeff

    1 Non functional
2 Air vent controls, non functional
3 No, the phone is present in the driver's door
4 There is a switch on the dash, don't know if they're timed
5 Can't be more that 4.5 V as the power source is 3 AAAs

I must admit I only played with the electric once on completion and she now resides in a glass case, so prob never will again. Hope this helps

Cheers Andy, I guess somewhere along the way some wiring has gone a bit wonky.

I assume the silver button on the dash is for the dash lights and the tracker, and the button by the drivers door is for the headlights? Neither are working on mine, but everything else is ok.

I was thinking of having the running lights wired up separately so I can display the car lit up at night. I've done this before with another model, power was from a mains powered adaptor, which was switched on by one of those timers you use when going on hols. Every night at your chosen time, the car lit up for a few hours then went out. I was thinking of doing the same with the db5 but don't wanna risk blowing LEDs, hence the voltage question.

With winter really pi$@ing me off and not wanting to leave the house etc what was the overall verdict on this model (apart from overall cost) - appears to have mixed reviews??? Are the ill fitting complaints the builder or dodgy parts?? Is it a long build? Frustrating? Easy peasy?? Is it difficult for a plonker like me who last made an airfix model (badly) when I was ten years old :D

    Welshie

Pleased with mine. Not sure hours taken, completed from start to finish in less than a week...

Wiring routing not clear but easy to sort. Chassis / body final mating tricky, but patience and a bit of luck gets it done.

I bought a custom glass case and it looks stunning beneath the screen in my cinema room. Pics on here in the Spectre press conf thrwad I think...

Not cheap but an interesting and ultimately rewarding build which gives a unique end product.

    Much appreciated for the info!!!!!

Ah..... I remember the cinema room thread - will take a look!!!!!!

Indeed sounds a rewarding build which was more of the reason I wanted it (also have a new office being built at the moment)

    Cheers!

NICE! VERY NICE INDEED! I would never emerge from the place if I had one of these rooms!

Thanks... It is turning in to more of Boys Toys room... If anyone is thinking of one, a JVC HD proj and a fixed glass particle screen have been superb mates ! Just added a Gameracer for the PS and transforms driving games. Driving a DBS around the N'ring is as close to the actual thing as you can get...

Even Mrs R agrees it was a great investment overall...

The actual black plinth that its supposed to sit on its somewhat of a rareity now. They looked a bit naff and were about 40.00 when they came out but seen a few on flea bay at over £100.00.
