    Some entries may be poorly made but we love them all the same :) I'm one of the few to like the invisible car and come to think of it the side whistle in golden gun is appropriate for the movie

    Oddly enough, with DAD being so over the top ( very Moonraker style) ;)
    The invisible car, somehow fits. It would jar in another film but not DAD.

    I'm quite fond of it for this reason :) I like CR for the slickness and QoS for the roughness and think that they make a good pairing, particularly as they were still finding a direction for the Craig era.

    On one hand, it wanted to avoid the cliches but on the other hand, it couldn't think of anything to subvert them with.

    Hmm, I've never thought of it that way but I think you're right. Very well put.

    Yes, Bond movies thrive on each one being a unique take, different from each other one. Craig's have been (and continue to be) that. -{

    Thats because DAD is so full of everything turning to crap the invisible car fits right in

    That isn't a compliment by them way...

    Yes, some good performances and I loved Toby Stephen's as Graves. :)

    The whole Bond/Raoul sequence felt very Fleming-like IMO- the cigar factory, reviving a sleeper agent, and so on.

    Yeah, there are many a good moment in DAD that gets overlooked by the sh*tty CGI & the stupid Moneypenny scene at the end... 8-)

    There are more bad things than good in DAD, but the Raoul scenes were good ones. DAD suffered terribly from a bad script and a bad director. I think QoS suffered mostly from a director who was out of his element. The writer's strike was a problem, but the script was still better than DAD's script. Forster tried to be a director he wasn't, but if he did what he was good at I believe QoS would have been a much better film.

    One of the weaknesses of the entire film is Toby Stephens as Gustav Graves. This is Maggie Smiths son for Chrissakes. I don't know if Tamahori told him to play it as a stuck up Englishman but it didn't work. He sneered his way through the film, top lip curled.

    The bit with General Moon fell flat. The scene with him in the aircraft fell flat? It didn't go anywhere. The whole switching with General Moon didn't work. In fact the scene with General Moon had me squirming in my seat with embarasment

    Pierce and Rosamunde did well despite Tamahori's direction. Directing the actors was never Tamahori's forte. And Rosamunde has gone on to be nominated for an Oscar despite Die Another Day..

    Hooray! I think of all the Craig Bond films, QoS's reputation will increase with the years (CR has always had a good reputation which I think it will maintain). Whilst I don't think it will ever be seen as a classic entry in the canon, I think it will be discovered as a great film and will be celebrated for its qualities :)

    I'm about 3 months away from watching it on my Bondathon so I'll see what I think then.

    as it happens, I watched QoS yesterday evening, too ;)
    If it would be a stand-alone film, it would probably be pretty solid.but since it's part of a franchise, I think (especially after CR) it's a bit of a let down.our hero here is a "blunt instrument" that comes straight out of the Bourne franchise rather than being a charming agent.
    Nonetheless, I still enjoy it and love it for being a part of the franchise PLUS I think it's DC's best dressed Bond -{

    I can agree with that, some lovely suits in QOS, before Tom Ford
    Started cutting them far too tight. :)) , also IMHO, the Best music
    Score from David Arnold. -{

    But Bond IS a 'blunt instrument'...and described by Fleming as such...so - job done -{

    Bourne just followed on from Bond...

    You're right but I meant that I would have appreciated it if a slight hint of smile was on DC's face.
