    AJB fans? :o

EDIT: £50,000 at £200 a pop means they took 250 of the SPECTRE sweaters, if in stock. If it was other items, then who knows.

I suppose we'll see loads on eBay next week...

Smash and grab robbers escaped with £50,000 worth of luxury clothing after a raid on a store in Sloane Street last night.

Intruders smashed through the glass front door of the luxury cashmere store N. Peal clearing several wardrobes of stock.

The store said an alarm sounded but police did not arrive in time.

Adam Holdsworth, the store’s managing director, said : “They knew exactly what they were coming for and had targeted our most expensive cashmere knitwear and fur garments.”

No-one was hurt during the incident last night.

The raid comes after it was revealed that £200 cashmere N. Peal sweaters feature in the upcoming Spectre James Bond film.

A Met spokeswoman said : “Police were called at about 12.30am last night to a shop in Sloane Street following an alarm activation.

“Officers arrived on scene and found that the front door to the shop had been damaged.

“It is believed the suspects have then entered the shop and removed a quantity of clothing before making off.

“Detectives from Kensington and Chelsea CID are investigating. There have been no arrests at this time."

    What is a "commercial burglary"?

It sounds like that's what this is, not a robbery. Commercial refers to this being a commercial establishment rather than a residence.

...flash forward 2 months when we're all trying to decide if we should partake in the cheap NPeal sweaters that have just popped up on EBay :007)

These will already be in a van bound for other parts of Europe.

Yep, bang on Matt.. English law, this is a burglary, and the sentencing comes down to whether it is a 'dwelling burglary' or 'commercial burglary'.

Maximum 14 years imprisonment for dwelling, 7 for commercial, so pays to steal from a shop if your that way inclined!!

I've been to NPeal, and the men's cashmere jumpers are a bargain compared to some of the women's items they have....as mentioned fur items etc

Chance is they will pop up on allegro.pl, I'll keep you posted. If a lot of N.Peal sweaters will suddently show up (I have never seen even one brand new on allegro) maybe there will be a chance to catch the thiefs. However they might go to China as well to be used as templates for fakes.

Guys, this one is weird. A brand new N.Peal fur coat on allegro.pl is quite odd. The seller accepts no returns. Ideas? Maybe if N.Peal will confirm that something like this was also stolen they can get to the rest? :/

Bugger, now I see in the description that the owner has the bill... She bought it in the London Boutique. So I guess I just encountered one Polish lady with too much money!

I don't endorse crime in any form, but who sells real fur coats in the 21st century? They got what they deserved, "luxury goods", my arse...
