Sadly BondJasonBond006, I watched Jessica Jones last night and didn't
think much of it. , I was really looking forward to it, I'll give another episode
a go, but it may not be for me.
Has any one watched past the first episode? Undecided whether to carry on.

Well, I'm three episodes in, and I'm finding that the larger David Tennant's part gets, the more interesting it becomes. The good Doctor is now radiating absolute EVIL. Otherwise, the uber-noir approach does take some getting used to. . .this makes the world of DareDevil look like Disneyland!

I found those 10 episodes astonishingly original, gripping and there are surprisingly gory scenes in it for a TV show.
But then Wes Craven produced it and Kevin Williamson was involved in the scripts.
What I liked about it is that they didn't just use the same characters as in the movies, but they re-made them with different names and backgrounds. Gale, Dewey, Sidney they are there but in new forms.
Furthermore the series plays around with many iconic scenes from the movies, you expect something to happen and then you get totally surprised or even shocked. All is fair game.
Also there is one single death that really shocked me, it's a long time ago that a horror scene had such a great impact on me. I couldn't get it out of my head for days.
Sadly, Wes Craven has gone. May he rest in peace. He gave us a great lot of memorable, unique and visionary stuff.

Think I'll wait until I'm struggling for things to watch. I've got a few things on the go at moment, so I'll keep it on the back burner for now.
I've seen the third season of "Broen" (The Bridge). This time Martin Rohde is in prison, so Saga has a new Danish partner. This season focuses more on Saga Noren, wich is is a good Thing, since she always was the most interesting part of the series. We really see her getting backstory and develop. Highly recomended!
Yesterday, 1st December, would have been the birthday of Matt Monro. -{

But, I have gradually seen some of " I'm a minor C lister get me outta here" , and
have to say I'd hate to have to spend any time with Lady C what a witch !
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
I've just seen the two first episodes of "Deutchland'83". This German series is set in ..... you guessed it ... 1983. It's about the young Moritz who lives in East Germany and is sent to the West by Stasi to infiltrate the office of an army general. If you like the series "The Americans", you'll like this series too. Recomended!
There's an interesting documentary about Las Vegas presented by Trevor McDonald on ITV1 currently.
Yes its on now ,but a mate said ,if you watch it ,you wont ever want to go there ???
I taped it and only saw about half of it but it wasn't flattering at all. I don't think that I'd ever really want to go there though (and most especially not to gamble money!) but it would be a fascinating chance to conduct a sort of psychological study of the people attracted there to the casinos and slot machines. I've partly written an article on 1950s Las Vegas as depicted in Fleming's DAF novel and I may now finish it up and post it to the blog. -{
"The tough man of the world. The Secret Agent. The man who was only a silhouette." - Ian Fleming, Moonraker (1955).
Even on an old Columbia episode " Double shock" the other day ( early 70s)
It looked very drab, in DAF it really didn't look all that glamorous either.

Yes, I recall that one.
I think it'd be done so much before in other films that it hadn't much sparkle left by the time Bond came along to set a film there.

My wife's niece, spent part of her honeymoon in Vegas, only doing
Tourist things. I think they went into one casino, just to say they
gambled there. They were more impressed with Nashville, as they
are big Country music fans.

Yes, a work colleague who went on holiday to Las Vegas told me that they even had slot machines/fruit machines etc. in the hotel lobbies (never mind the casinos)!

I've been tucking into Battlestar Galactica from the 2000's. It's been alright so far. I've noticed it gets quite high praise. I've watched the mini series and the first five episodes of the first season.
To anyone that has seen it, does the series pick up traction or does it stay like it does in the first few episodes?
"Sic Parvis Magna"
"Greatness From Small Beginnings."

I know he has his fans, but I think he has a big ego. Which may have
had something to do with his producer leaving after only five months.
I honestly think his version of TG, will be the last. His idea of getting
One Direction as guest hosts etc, fill me with horror. Also if you thought
Clarkson had a big head, at least he knew he needed help from the other
two to present and film stories for the series. Where Chris doesn't think he
Needs help and ( if true) will be the only permanent presenter.
I'm so big a fan of Top Gear that I even watch the repeats on Dave. )

We're Doomed: The Dad's Army Story - superb !
A great cast to start with - all evoking the spirit of the original actors...but special mention must be given to John Sessions who WAS Arthur Lowe !
I loved every second of this...I just wanted more of it -{

It's been slated in the press - so much so I deleted the episodes I'd recorded before watching them !
Must just be my sence of humour one of his flats mates is a failed
Photographer, so perhaps I can relate to it a bit more. )

It seems the BBC Top Gear programme " is in Chaos"
What do you think of Chris Evans as a replacement for Clarkson and Co., TP?
I never watched it but I'm just curious as to what regular viewers think.
