I picked up a paper today ,and saw a most disgusting picture -cum-story, apparently ,on some far away beach in Argentina,this poor baby dolphin,separated from its mother is washed up in front of the local beach dwellers ,who duly ,pick the poor terrified animal up and have all and sundry take selfies with it .Now the poor creature dies ,and is tossed on the sand ,fun over ,pass the sun cream ,back on the sun lounger . Some of you may recall that I am a volunteer in a help centre - one of the most common cases are pregnancies where the lad involved has scooted off to family on another island leaving the girl alone and sometimes kicked out of the home, that is bad enough but what is becoming more problematic is foreign men leaving a girl pregnant and the cutting off of all contact. I had a case this week where a man from Birmingham who had chatted with a local girl here on a dating website came over for a holiday with promises of marriage and has gone home leaving the girl pregnant - when the girl told him she was pregnant all contact was cut off - I have tried his mobile phone but it seems that it was a cheap "burner" and has been destroyed - emails just bounce back it seems he has blocked all incoming emails to that address. The girl is in a terrible emotional state. This has happened several times now (not just from Britain but men from Australia, USA and mainland Europe too). If only these scumbags realised what devastation they leave behind they maybe would think twice before ruining a girl's life (but sadly I think not ). I was wondering if anyone on here could advise if there is anything that can be done - namely if the man can be traced can he be held responsible for contributing to the upkeep of the baby and mother?

It is a very much a strict Catholic country, although contraception is available it is not widely used hence the massive and still growing population. Abortions are strictly forbidden and heavy penalties are in force to anyone practicing it. I have already contacted the hotel but due to confidentiality reasons nothing can be done - we have a policeman who assists us at the help centre but even he has his hands tied as no actual crime has been committed it's just a moral issue. We will continue to make searches but as in the past hold little hope of any success

I know Thailand has many beautiful sights, but when I hear about a group of men heading there
on holiday, all I think is " Sex Tourist" , which might be wrong of me, but the last person I spoke to
who was going there. Made it very plain to me that's why he was going.
Although my wife's cousin is married to a Thai lady.

Sex tourism is not as bad here as in Thailand - but there are plenty of hookers to go round for those who want them so the current fad of men making girls on dating websites believe that they are coming to meet them in the prospect of marriage only to sleep with them for a couple of weeks then disappear is particularly distasteful.
As for financial help from the church, the saying "good luck with that" applies. They love to take the weekly collections from those who cannot afford it in the first place but trying to get the church to help the poor and needy is another matter. They provide a place to worship and to confess sins don't expect anything else.

My wifes grand dad married a Thai lady,he was about 70 at the time ,she was about 40 , (he was no Cary Grant ) but they both got what they wanted ,he died happy ,they had trouble nailing the coffin lid down ) and she got to live in London ect ,it does sound a bit weird on both sides cynical maybe ,but they could have loved each other ??

BL***Y hurricane Katie , having looking forward to a nice Easter rest , im now £200.00 out of pocket due to my fence panels been blown down .Ive had to order 4 panels 2 concrete spurs,2 x 2meter posts bags concrete ,nails,screws, and to top it all ,ive had to go and hire a KANGO concrete breaker ,to drill up all the old concrete footings for the wooden posts .Ive been at it since 8am ,and im still not done ,and now ive got all the old 6x6 panels to smash up and get down the dump ,but ive just gone and bought a new toy ,BMW of course ,and I daren't put any thing in the trunk (but that's another post )I hate our countries weather , and to top it all ,you cant insure garden fences ect wot a swizz X-(
