Sherlock and Bond

Just watched the Christmas Sherlock Holmes (benedict cumberbatch version). It's written by mark gatiss, who is a huge bond fan and it was interesting to see the way he has taken the series. From a fairly straight / intense first series this latest entry could almost have been a comedy and it was interesting to note the comparison with bond. And the question was - can you balance excitement and humour successfully? The answer seems to be that if the humour is done right then - yes - it can work.but you have to view it as entertainment.

Anyone else see it / see the similarities?

Oh yes, and I would love to see Gatiss & Moffatt get their hands on a Bond script.

Yes, a script by that pair could easily be the sharpest and wittiest we've ever seen. I could imagine Craig would welcome it too

It would be interesting. Gatiss has worked in an idea , from
OHMSS in to an episode of Sherlock.

Seriously. That'd be as far away from Fleming that it would be possible to get :(
