FS: New RM Williams Comfort Chelsea boots Chestnut UK Sz8.5 Layer Cake

Hi guys,

I have for sale a brand new unworn (tried on at home) pair of RM Williams 'Comfort Craftsman' in a UK Sz 8.5 in Chestnut as worn by DC in Layer Cake (and recently modelled by our own Welshboy!!).

Not strictly Bond (I hope this doesn't offend or anything like that) but I know, besides myself, that DC is as influential in other films/private life/etc. as he is dressed as 007 -{

These boots - for me - fit like C&J's i.e. half a size smaller than my usual shoe/trainer size (I'm usually a UK Sz 9 in Nike, Churchs', Loake, Hugo Boss, etc.).
For info, in C&J I have the Moltons (black & brown suede), Highbury (black) and Islays' and they are all UK Sz 8.5.

Why am I selling?
Like some Bond items I've purchased in the past (CR till present), some pieces suit me others simply don't - at least I don't feel like the RM Williams do. My better half likes them on, but after much deliberation I've decided to sell them on.

The boots retail at around £295-300 from reputable traders online.

Shall we say £220.00?

For what it's worth. The shoes worn by Daniel Craig in Layer Cake are actually the Henley model in chestnut ( which can be purchased here: http://www.bootsonline.com.au/boots/henley-b538-made-to-order/ ). Other than that, I own these exact shoes and they're great. I will say they run just a little big and the leather will stretch slightly over time. I had to size down one half size.

Best of luck on your sale. Sorry you didn't love them as much as I do mine.

May I ask how you know they are def the Henley?

I did come across an iffy article saying this however nothing really confirmed officially - if I'm honest they all look pretty much the same to me and the soles were more important in my decision of model selection

There is a scene toward the end of the film where they are all in a warehouse and DC get "The" Layer Cake speech from Gambon. As he goes to get in the car you get a glimps of the soles and they are leather. I read that that is where the Henleys thing came from as somebody didnt realise the craftsman came in both leather and rubber sole. They look to be the shape of the craftsman when he is shot on the step at the end too.

There are picks of DC wearing the sued craftsmen so who knows.....

Yup thats the scene I always take a close look at.

Thats kind of the way I think it was interpreted also!! I don't think we will ever know for sure but I thought the Henley was too square compared to what we see on screen
