WTB: Levi's Menlo (early edition) Size M

If anyone is looking to sell! I'm looking for the SA version with the gold lining - not the later with the red.

Thank you!

Just be aware that these jacket run big. I normally take a large but needed to size down to a medium for the Menlo.

Hi, yes I own two M already so that's my size :) One from the older stock that has seen better days and one from the newest batch (orange lining) where LVC shortened the arms but kept the shoulder width. Stupid move.

    Cheers

I often see these two lumped together in the same ebay sale. They look like completely different cuts/washes to me but sellers are saying they are exactly the same. Do you have any more insight into the differences? Is it just the photography that is making these look drastically different?

These are the two versions I also own, and they are definitely not the same.

The one on the left is from an older collection (c:a 2013) and the one on the right is from the last batch (2014-2015).

Left is more distressed, more supple leather and has unnatually long sleeves and shoulders. It's brown

Right is more choco coloured (a richer brown), not very distressed, normal length sleeves but wide shoulders as well. This latter issue is problematic when adjusting at the tailor since the sleeves will the be too short. This leather is thicker than the other.

The SA version is older as well, it's more black/brown thanks to very heavy distressing and a heavier jacket than both the two above.

I'm probably gonna sell mine (right). I really want the heavy distressed version, like it better.

Was there variations of the (correct) one on the left?????????? I remember at the time of Skyfall people claimed that

There definitely seems to be at least a color variant.

Yes I currently own an M of each pictured. The left one has the thinnest leather of all the versions. It's probably from the SS13 collection. The versions that preceded were even more distressed and featured thicker leather. Here we find the version that is seen on Depp and Cruise, and then we have the SA version with the heaviest distressing of all.

The one on the right is the last version. LVC is rumoured to not release the 1930s Menlo again. Orange lining, light distressing, thicker leather.

Depps and Cruises versions can be the same (lighting effect) or two different versions. The cut on them are the same though.

LVC currently has a black menlo with no distressing on their website. I thought that was the latest? Or was that before the orange lining one?

I hope that rumor isn't true.

I own the black Menlo as well and it's distressed but it isn't as apparent since it's black. There are two versions of this black jacket, with black lining and brown lining. Mine is black/black.

I talked to Stylecreep (official LVC stockist) and the Swedish store Sivletto and they both confirmed LVC don't make these anymore. Who knows what happens in the future though.

Menlos. All in size M. I've had the bottom jacket and black professionally adjusted (shoulders and sleeves) so they fit like they should. No silly baboon arms anymore.

One of my favourite jackets. I've got a long reach so the medium fit me perfect. Probably the best off the shelf fit I've ever had. I'm a size 40R and I wear a medium.

I agree it's a fine jacket. What version do you have?

Good fit off the shelf...do you have broad shoulders and/or fantastic reach? You sound like a potential talent in boxing :)

I wore a size S a year ago but after gymming it didn't fit well, and I thought S was too short really.

Mine looks exactly like the one Tom Cruise is wearing so I'm not sure if that's the correct one. It was a birthday gift from my wife and I believe she bought it from End Clothing a few years ago.

Funny you say that, I do have broad shoulders and I boxed for 4 years. I base my ideal measurements off the Menlo for other jackets. I love that jacket.

Oh my, you have perhaps the nicest version then.. :) Well, I haven't owned the SA one, but I'm not sure I want such thick leather, it gets warm and heavy. Yours have very supple leather and quite heavy distressing?

You did box? Haha that is amazing. Well, one should use their strengths ;)

Do you have any pics of your jacket?

I find mine is thinker in some areas and then in others its distressed to the point where it feels like suede a bit. I am working a night shift tonight but I'll take some pics tomorrow and post them to this thread.
