    It's been a lovely Sunday at home here today. It's the maid's day off so instead of my usual fruit and yogurt breakfast I cooked a very unhealthy but gorgeous Full English :) . Then a late lunch, roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings from our local M&S in one of the shopping malls over the bridge in the city.

    Darkness has set in and we are approaching 7pm in the evening, it's a cool 75F and slightly drizzling so just popping in for a quick rum cocktail, please, Barman before we watch Creed which I am looking forward to -{

    Yes...quite a few other 'athletes' have voiced the same 'concern'...but, as it's plainly just not true (Tour of France wins, World Championships cycle wins) one can only put it down to 'sour grapes' 8-)

    How did Germany get on against Brazil in the football final ? :))

    You and me both sir miles, you and me both!

    In fact while getting a stat dec signed by a local female solicitor for my second marriage in venice, she asked how my divorce went, when I told of the utter acrimony she said yes pretty much all women are completely unreasonable and vicious with divorce even if they initiated it! To quote her she said if a dog was as vicious as most women are during a divorce it would be shot. I completely agreed with her :) As the saying goes marry in leisure repent in haste.

    Sour grapes, eh?
    The Tour de France or Tour de Doping ( and that includes Jan Ulrich!!) is the exception.

    How did England, Scotland and Wales end up in the Olympic Tournament? :v
    And the German Team was probably the C team of our U 23

    Mactan island is connected to Cebu Island by two bridges. The Philippines is a country of over 7000 islands but only a score or so are habitated to any extent. Mactan Island itself is very small compared to Cebu Island and heavily populated on one side with the International Airport and manufacturing factories. The other side where I live is more of a quiet area with lots of sub-divisions (gated communities) and 5-star hotels. Cebu City is a half hour drive away over the bridge and is a world class city with state of the art shopping malls and restaurants. The cost of living is incredibly low compared to the UK.

    I would not live anywhere else but still enjoy my annual trip back to Blighty :)

    Nope...no sour grapes at all - apparently Team GB are not allowed a football team in the Olympics just to give the other countries a chance - very sporting of us :007)

    I thought the Germany team had some good players...Horn, Süle and Meyer to name but three -{

    I take it the Germans don't cycle then ? :D or box :))

    Interesting CHB, i had always thought mactan was off luzon. Its good to learn new things, I've never travelled to the Philippines, it's a part of the world I'd like to see. Along with Vietnam, Thailand, south Korea. Japan.....etc etc

    Luzon is the largest island where the capital Manila is, way up in the north of the country. Mactan is about halfway down the islands, about a 1000 miles north of the equator.

    Its certainly much safer here on ajb that's for sure, barbs and occasionally miley do a fine job patrolling the forums. Unfortunately dear old tp was savagely attacked by a three nippled ignorant foul mouthed barstewerd. It's definitely nicer here in the warmth of ajb :D -{

    :)) Oh I'm big enough to defend myself, my gripe was having two members accuse me of "baiting" him !
    As I never, Repeat NEVER responded to any comments directed at me. ;) Being berated for something I've
    Done, I can accept, but to be scolded for something I didn't even get involved with is something else. :)) Next
    I'll be getting blamed for the Kennedy assassination or the death of Diana :)) ( I have good alibi's, for both ).
    I know several AJBers are on MI6 so I'm not bothered if it becomes common knowledge, but basically the
    Mods on AJB simply do a much better job. -{ easily spotting trolls and troublemakers, before they can do too
    Much damage. Although it must be hard for the MI6 Mod team, when several members actually speak up in support
    Of trolls etc. Without even doing me the courtesy of looking at my posts, to see that. I wasn't even involved in the
    Incident, :D still why let the facts get in the way of a good story ?

    On a happier not my youngest got her exam results today seven "B" Two A* , I like to think all my help with her
    Maths homework helped ................. As I'd get so many of them wrong, She had to learn it. :))

    Many congrats tp on your daughters success, it's a nice feeling to have children who succeed in their trials and tribulations. I too am bursting with fatherly pride as my eldest who starts high school next month did fantasticly well in her sats she was top 2% in the county and snagged herself a place in a sought after grammar school. The downside is the uniform cost me nearly £300!!! Well done us for our wonderful genes {[]
    With regard the other issue I caught up with that late last night and was disappointed with how it was handled I think a side forum for rogue agents should be set up so they can all poison each other.

    (Looks confused)

    Was that in the delivery with the purple Post-Its on them? It wasn't in the standard delivery. :s

    Barbel - your beer is basking on the bay window, next to the basket of blue begonias.

    Lady R - I am sorry to report the latest batch of Bolinger had three corked bottles in it M'Lady. I have sent them back with a tube of toothpaste. (Fans of LTK will know what means!) Replacement bottles are apparently en route.

    Pussy - Congrats to you daughter, my Mate Vulcan* has been doing a refresher course. He got his results A* on English and C on Maths. Hopefully he will be getting into Uni to do his Nurse's degree.

    *A Nickname.
    This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?
