I was woken about 30 minutes ago (just before 6am my time) by a friend calling from England who told me about Robert Vaughn's passing. He was an icon to me, The Magnificent Seven is my favourite movie, TMFU, Hustle, Bullitt, Towering Inferno, Columbo and many more performances made him seem like an old friend. His autobiography A Fortunate Life is an excellent read. A very sad CHB this morning. RIP Dear Robert.

It's a real shame they don't seem able to show stuff like The Man from UNCLE on British TV anymore. I very much enjoyed those shows in the 70s. I just don't understand it; surely a generation won't rush out to buy the DVDs if they don't even know the show exists.
As for L Cohen, well, news of Trump's victory probably finished him off. Maybe he thought, even I couldn't write a song as depressing as that.
