Which Bond watch

Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a DC Omega watch, wondering if anyone could recommend which is the best one please? Really want one that's iconic and can dress up and dress down. Am looking to have a TF SkyFall PTS suit made and didn't know whether to have the complete outfit. The 3 I'm deciding between are the:

SF Planet Ocean
SP Aqua Terra 41.5
SP Seamaster 300 Master Coaxial (non Spectre edition) with NATO strap.

SF Planet Ocean is my least fave.

Aqua Terra is best option if you want to dress up.

Try on all 3 and you will soon know which is THE one for you

Thanks Welshboy, I agree SF Planet Ocean I feel doesn't really make a statement and an iconic Bond watch but love the SkyFall PTS suit and would love to have a complete set. Have tried them on (300 on the bracelet and not on the strap) but really can't decide. Thought I'd get a opinion from the experts!

The Aqua Terra isn't instantly identifiable as a Bond watch, doesn't really have an iconic look like the Seamaster. The black Planet Ocean from QOS and the SF PTS is a good match I think, especially If you're after the PTS look.

I would go for a old 2500 QoS PO over the new one. Looks so much better. Chuck the Omega rubber on it and you also have a 42mm version of the Casino Royale watch!

It's a personal decision but I love my SF PO LE I think it's iconic. Looks great with suits during the week and casual gear on the weekend

I’m a big fan of the 2531.80.00 blue wave Seamaster 300m, but if you want a DC era Omega then I think nothing beats the 2220.80.00. It provides an excellent connection between Brosnan and Craig due to the similar design, comes with a great bracelet, but will look stunning on a NATO strap too. And, it will be suitable for every occasion too. The newer non-blue wave 300m Seamasters are nice too, and the ceramic bezel looks better than aluminium one, but overall their overall appearance isn’t as great. Most importantly, it should be possible to get a second-hand 2531.80.00 at a reasonable price, particularly if you don’t mind one with a few light scratches that you can have later polished off. But if you can afford a mint one, even better – will save you the effort.

I personally love the 42mm 8500 PO in black (grey). Easy to dress up and down in my opinion. The 42mm is not as in your face as the 45.5 which I have had.

I would get the PO personally. Then get the 38.5 Aqua Terra in blue.

Thanks for the help guys, making my decison so much easier. Really looking forward to the tie arriving nafets47 and speaking to TF about the suit, am really hoping they'll be able to do the same SkyFall O'Connor cut so I can get 100% SA, apparently they've changed the cut even since Spectre.

Sorry, this thread needs a picture...
And in my opinion the PO is the watch which dresses up and down and is the most 'Bond watch'. The 8500 PO is a larger, chunkier watch and I agree with the advice above that the older PO would be much more versatile and with the addition of a rubber strap, a NATO strap and a strap tool, you'd have 3 watches for any occasion!
Beautiful as the AT is, it hasn't had enough screen presence to be linked to Bond.

Funnily enough the 2220.80 is the only watch ive had which really attracted people. Ive mentioned it before on the watch thread but I was asked once if was a Rolex. Unfortunately it was not Eva But a bearded guy

I think to cover both dress up and dress down the SM300 master coax is ideal, looks great on its bracelet and nato. Failing that I agree with Welshboy and a po 2500, but then again they're all nice

You cant go wrong really! Though your wrist size might aid you in the decision since his watches have varied considerably in size over the films!

E.g.

Seamasters usual 40mm,
45mm CR PO can look big on small wrists,
Skyfall 38.5 mm looked a bit small on my 7.2" wrist (larger version and SPECTRE version loses its elegance)

Good point, also if your considering a nato at all the po 8500 sits high once it's got a couple of layers of strap under it.
