Hillary Clinton just called half of Trump voters “a basket of deplorables” that consists of “the racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic – you name it.” That's not a very smart or presidential thing to say, is it?

What would happen is that the Democratic National Committee would reconvene and the party officials would each cast one vote at a special meeting and the winner is whoever gets the majority. I imagine John Kerry, Joe Biden, and of course Bernie Sanders would be likely to pick up her mantle should she she quit (and she would have to withdraw herself, they can't and won't force her out).

If there is an underlying health condition she needs to be honest with herself and the American people and not let her ambition get the better of her.

Hillary standing down would give Trump a bigger advantage. We can't say that Hillary has major problems with her health if all she has is pneumonia. If you don't believe that, whatever other health problem Hillary may have isn't as serious as Trump's mental health problems.

There is more choice than just two parties. The US has other parties, but they have even less direction than the two major parties. I'd say the two major parties have been lowering themselves to the level of the other parties these days.

Now the first debate between Clinton and Trump is finished. Because the debate was aired in the middle of the night over here and the slow access to the internet today, I have seen very little of the debate. However the media I have read (surprisingly, not Fox News ) say Clinton was the strongest debater. It seems Trump didn't say anything more outragous than "I have a great temperament", so it's unlikely he will dominate teh news cycle today IMO.

It's pretty obvious that she has health issues and that will be the key factor that the republicans will be riding on for the next week.
IMO, she should step back immediately for the good of the country/planet and make way for Kerry.
