didn't TF make Bond's suitcase in QOS? so its not much of a stretch if he did his wallet as well.

So, what wallet WOULD bond use?
I'm in the market for a decent, classy wallet and want to see what you guys come up with.

I really became a fan of the black Prada saffiano leather belt from QoS (I love that crosshatch design), so I picked up the wallet to match. I've had it for almost 3 years, and it still looks beautiful! It's a staple accessory from Prada, so you can find plenty of them online, and in different styles and colors.

    Kind regards,
    Craig

I've got a Mont Blanc black calfskin limited edition of 8000 " Signature for good" I love it. A few years ago in the states when we were in Mont Blanc rodeo drive I was in shorts polo and my footy teams cap ( we'd just won the premiership and it was signed by the captain) staff looked down their noses at us until saw the wallet same thing happened in vegas.
Should say it was a gift from my sister I tend to only risk divorce on Bond gear.

I can only cast a vote for a good money clip, which is what DC's Bond has done.. I've had a titanium one for years and love it. I keep $100 in cash and 3 cards on me and being titanium (stainless steel stinks for clips, IMO) it has not lost any of its "grip" at all. And to keep it somewhat Bond related, the model I use is the Commander ;)

I've made a little discovery on this topic that some here may find interesting. I will post more tomorrow when I can include a picture.

I had a closer look at Quantum of Solace last night, and was able to make out an interesting detail about Bond's wallet; it's some sort of leather money clip or leather wallet with a leather money clip attached to it. Here are four versions of the same bit of footage, taken with my phone camera:

    DSC_0007.jpg

    DSC_0008.jpg

    DSC_0009.jpg

It's hard to tell whether it's just a clip, or if it's more along the lines of this, posted by Canoe2 earlier in the thread:

Does anyone know if TF did a moneyclip/credit card holder for the 2007/08 season? Based on the pics and the way the money is folded and showing, I don't think it's a wallet/billfold. More something like this:

It looks as if there might be another bit of leather underneath the banknotes, which would be consistent with Canoe2's suggestion, but this can't be seen in my pictures and you would have to have a look at it on Blu-ray to see what I mean. Whatever it is, I think it's safe to say it's definitely not the one seen in the Bond in Motion exhibition.

Great points Jellyfish. This seems to back up what Canoe was thinking. Also, as ppw3o6r pointed out, the Amex card is from CR. Additionally, the universal exports card is not the one we see in QoS, as the name is J. Bond on the one in the wallet and it is R. Sterling in QoS:

Of course, none of this means that there couldn't be a second wallet in QoS, but my money is that the wallet is from CR.

How can this be "Bond rebooted" when he's using an alias from TSWLM? Makes my brain hurt!

The same way that there is a James Bond in both universes.

Because if it was a reboot, nothing happened before. Therefore TSWLM didn't happen.

I think the ones at the BiM exhibition may well be a Dunhill 6cc - albeit older version. I have found this 'vintage' one on eBay, which is the same configuration on the inside, and stitching looks very close to Welshy's and OP _stocks (obviously the gold branding has been removed)

    s_l1600.jpg

This newer 8cc version is slightly different, but the grain is close, and the stitching detail is very close (that bellow piece on the spine is not present on the older versions it seems)

    IMG_1019.jpg

Dunhill have the lighters from the Brosser era, so maybe it was for one of his films after all. The display is clearly a mix-match of era's.

I agree, the wallet does exhibit many Dunhill like features. I think it is Dunhill as well. However, I do think it is a Craig wallet and not a Brosnan or other Bond wallet. In posts 33 and 45 the wallet is shown to not be any of the known Brosnan wallets. Additionally, while the wallet is shown in a mixed case sometimes, it has also been shown on a table labeled "Bond Personal Items:Daniel Craig"

    IMG_9186.jpg

Near the wallet is his Arlington Beech passport from CR. Also, inside the wallet is the CR Amex card and what appears to be Vesper's Financial Action Task Force Card. Additionally, given that they seemed to try and infuse Craig's Bond with Brosnan Bond brands (Brioni, Omega, Church's), a Dunhill wallet in CR would fit in perfectly. Dunhill also has connections beyond Brosnan and was used by Dalton and Connery according to JamesBondLifestyle:

    http://www.jamesbondlifestyle.com/tags/dunhill

I'm not saying it wasn't Brosnan's, as it is very possible that the people setting up the display mixed and matched unknowingly. I'm just pointing out the things that make me think it is a Craig wallet.

Your probably right James, but the drivers licence in the same display certainly isn't from DC. I am the same age as DC, took my driving test at earliest possible uk age (17) and even then plartic photo I'd drivers licences had been in for a few years!

It makes you wonder if the wallet isn't there just as a way to display the card props and it wasn't actually used...

I think it is a genuine prop, most costume/prop/design guys want to have everything a normal
Person would have to complete the look and feel of a costume, and I heard The Bond crew have a unreal attention to details, even for stuff that's not seen in film, but enhance the character for the actor. For example, Andrew Scott said that in his desk draw in the set for his office was stationary and business cards with his 'Max Denbeigh' details on.

I have a friend who is DC's age and his drivers licence from his teens was the same folded paper licence without the picture. I was always amazed by it.

I stand corrected Westwood Drift, i passed my test in 1989, and they didn't come in for another 9 years, and now i think about to, i can recall the hassle of getting more passport photos done - age has taken my memory :#

is there a right model or is it just dunhill?
  • TennysonTennyson A View to a KillPosts: 606MI6 Agent
No model, and no confirmation it's a dunhill. Pretty much a 'looks closest' guess, but informed by quality and Dunhill previously having supplied items to Eon. My efforts to find the correct model have been unsuccessful, and as it is most likely a out of production piece (if it is a dunhill), they will be as rare as Ricking Horse Sh17...

    I'll say. It's from QOS?

If you look back through this thread, you can get more details, but we ruled out the QoS wallet that Bond was seen holding. We also ruled out all known/screen-used Brosnan, Dalton, and Connery wallets. The display would suggest it is Craig's wallet from CR, but it could be any one of the Bond's wallet to be honest. Though, it doesn't look like it's from farther back than Moore at the latest, but ya never know.
