What toys did you have on your Santa list as a kid?

I remember Action Man and a Johnny Seven gun being on mine in the 60's.

On my list was the inevitable db5 with the ejector seat, back screen etc, I also had a white lotus that came with the stromberg boat and helicopter, action man was a big love of mine, I had a few including the tank commander and eagle eyes. I even had a Steve Austin action figure that you could look through his head

All the old favourites for me, Lego, Meccano, Airfix model kits.
I too had the Steve Austin figure, and the various Bond toys.
Along with the usual board games, one of the most infuriating
being "Escape from Colditz"

Books, LEGO, airplane models. I can't remember much. My mother often gave me something she had knitted and my father was (and is) very handy with woodcraft. Yes, My childhood was in the 1890's

I desperately wanted the DAF Corgi moon buggy so much that it hurt. A day or so before Christmas, I was in bed when I could hear my parents and older brother talking in hushed tones about something they'd just bought me. I was straining to hear what they were saying but couldn't get close enough to hear properly without getting caught, but I knew it was a toy and just hoped and hoped that it was the moon buggy. On Christmas day I picked up my little package from beneath the tree. It was the right size, shape (ie a box) and weight and I eagerly ripped off the wrapping. Alas it was the Star Trek USS Enterprise model. I hated Star Trek with a passion, but suspiciously it was my brother's favourite television programme. Apparently, the toy shop was sold out of moon buggies but my brother assured my parents that I'd be delighted with the Enterprise instead. Being a well brunged up kid, I hid my disappointment as well as I could manage, but when we took it out of the box and found it broken and my Dad said that they'd have to return it, my smile would have lit up the Las Vegas strip!

My favorite toys as a kid were The Micronauts, a collection of sci-fi vehicles, robots and small figures with interchangeable parts that let you disassemble and reassemble them into endless configurations.

For me it was the original Star Wars toys, absolutely loved it. Now I try to avoid it when I can, it's just become this merciless cash cow...

First off, I was a spoilt brat as a kid. A lot of what I am about to list was my Gran's doing may she rest in peace.

Amongst other things I had... Two Tonka large metal trucks, Classic Star Wars, Lego, Brittains Farm Toys, Masters Of The Universe (Castle Grayskull inc) Action Man, two different versions of KITT from Knight Rider, a massive collection of Corgi, Siku and Dinky cars, as well as about 50 matchbox ones!. A bit of Meccano, and a small mountainload of books. I vaguely remember having the Switchblade Helicopter and one or two other vehicles from MASK. Not much Bond, a cap cun and the Corgi Aston. A friend had the Lotus.

I also had a garage that my Dad made for my toy cars. Working lights, two storeys with a removable roof and my Mum had painted all the roof tiles on by hand. Although impractical, its the one thing I really wish I had kept, simply because they had made it for me.
Finally in my teens, a large display model of Thunderbird 2, and the Machbox Thunderbirds and Tracy Island. I still have all of them in their original boxes. Thanks Gran.

Some great memories there - I had forgotten about Matt Mason - I didn't have one but it looked a great toy - I remember having a James Bond annual one Christmas and being quite disappointed because there was only a few pages of photos from the movies and the rest was filled with unrelated spy strips.

Me too, at one point I could name every figure on the back of the card that they came in. Millennium falcon was the pride and joy though even if the cannons kept falling off along with the radar dish! I eventually moved on to he man figures and thundercats too, always stayed faithful to action force though and cars.

I had to build the Disney frozen palace Lego kit last year! Took me three frigging hours, somebody bought it for my stepdaughter who has no patience, no listening ability and as it turns out no interest in Lego! That's 3 hours of my boxing day I've never got back!

I never did get in to lego myself, I think that I stepped on a bit at a very young age

I was always massively into plasticine and lego as a kid. I also had most of the micronaughts in that picture. I always wanted the Millenium Falcon but sadly never got it.

I've just remembered that I had a board game called Go one Christmas. Not the Chinese game but a travel version made by Waddington's. The winner had to collect a number of souvenirs by travelling the world by air, sea and train, buying tickets and exchanging currencies. It was very good.

Lego, Scaletrix, Star Wars toys and a Fisher Price Garage were my presents in my early Christmases. Later on I got a couple of computers, an Atari and then a Commodore Amiga.

My favourite Christmas Present toy was the Schuco BMW Turbo, predecessor for the BMW M1.

The car had a working engine sound with working accelerator pedal, working headlights - which did not work because a part was missing.

Back then I was too shy walking into a store and demand he missing part to be ordered foc, so it always stayed dark in the night.

Loved it to bits!
