Yes, "gun" and "one" rhyme, happily.

The provenance seems to be good on the gun I handled last week during the run-up to my Bond cruise. It was Steve Dymzo's working prototype before he went into production!

Denise is touching it and getting icky hand oils on it as shown!

I'd love to learn more . . . John Flynn says Steve put what Steve said was #1 in his hands. Is the true number one lost to mists of time? Do you have it?

Pending approval for the license, Steve had to provide Leisure Concepts (the company handling the license for Eon at the time) with two Golden Guns which would be sent to Eon. One of those may have been the original prototype...not sure.
Memory fails me but I think another was left at the office of STARLOG magazine when we met with the publisher.
Another was given to Mr. Lowenthal (of Colibri) upon our meeting him in the UK to discuss Colibri's involvement in the development of the prop.
As many are aware....there have been a few versions as my friend Dave Di Pietro and I kept pointing out several slight changes that needed to be corrected (resulting in several "Prototypes")
I've seen Steve's "prototypes" appear on ebay. I believe these are guns cobbled together using parts from earlier runs leftover when changes were made.
I think we'll never quite know where the actual number 1 prototype ended up. --Ed

The one that I saw at EON was on display on the 4th floor, I picked it up and it fell apart in my hands

this was about 97 I'd never seen an SD GG before, it took me ages or what seemed like ages to get it back together again
