He wears a pear with his dinner jacket in TWINE that I've wanted to get a proper look at for ages. They're a circular pair in gold and silver with a ring of mother of pearl around a gold circle, which I have read on here has a letter D in the middle for Dunhill. I'm really hoping someone on here knows what I'm talking about and has pictures.

I used to have them. Sadly I don't have any pics. The very inner circle was MOP too.

This is the same style... The brushed bit was MOP as was the inner part of the d circle on the screen used ones....

Thanks for posting the picture, Asp9mm. Those ones look lovely, and I imagine that the ones with mother of pearl instead would be absolutely beautiful. I'm really hoping someone posts a picture.

In all honesty they weren't that nice, which is why I didn't keep them. They were a tad too big. If they were slightly smaller, they would have been much nicer. They weren't very popular and Dunhill didn't make them for long. I had a hard time buying a pair when I was in the trade and they were current and new and in the catalogue, and that was from Dunhill direct as I was very good friends with the Marketing Manager. So if I found them hard to source before the film came out, there really can't be that many pairs out there.

I did sell the to someone on here, along with another four different styles worn by Brozza. Can't remember who though now.

TWINE, TND & DAD. The DAD were screen used. They put a satin finish on them as they came very shiny as standard.

I always find it a bit funny when the props department does something like this, going to extraordinary lengths to change or adapt something, like with the Skyfall PPK case. Is there some practical purpose for brushing the cufflinks?

I've never seen these ones up close either, so I'm looking forward to seeing these too.

Yeah, light reflection. Studio and even outdoor lighting production uses is very powerful. Reflection of these lights off a surface like those Dunhill cufflinks can affect shots quite a lot.

Thanks for the explanation. What I find funny though is that the filmmakers go through the process of altering something, when it seems far more simple to just choose an alternative, in this case a pair of cufflinks that aren't as reflective.

Ok so the TWINE Cufflinks from the Bank Scene are Georg Jensen Stirling Silver number 88 Cufflinks made between 1968 and 1988.

How on earth did you figure that out? A crew member?

A long time in the making when I first saw a photo of them thought they were unusual, almost like the Star Trek badges, so searched loads at the time but nothing.
I have some Bang and Olufsen equipment and was looking at danish design and it brought up a cufflinks collection where I saw these and have since been hunting for a boxed pair which I finally got.
So all a bit random really.

    Thanks for showing us these cufflinks! They're certainly unusual, and very nice. -{

I have an interest in suits, watches, cufflinks etc (as a lot of people do here!) so it's fascinating to see things like this from so long ago but learning about them after all this time. Good story about finding them too, it seems you had a good bit of luck with them coming up while you were looking for something else.

Jared, you nailed it man. Thanks so much for discovering this, I've wanted these since seeing the movie back in '99. Just picked up a pair on ebay for a pretty penny. Here's a comparison shot...

A bit of commentary on my above photos: I believe the ones with the d are indeed the tuxedo and Nuclear reactor cufflinks as seen in The World Is Not Enough

No, they are different. The screen used Dunhills had double mother of pearl inlays.

Same cufflink as this, but with MOP instead of the brushed metal and the small circle the d was in was MOP too....

It's not a case of disagreeing, it's a fact. I used to be involved with Dunhill to a major extent back then (between 1998 and 2002), and I have and had many contacts within the watch/jewellery, as well as Bond production industry as many members here can confirm. I've owned screen worn costume from this period, and promotional versions too. The cuffllinks were part of the AD2000 Millennium range Dunhill did back then. All the cufflinks from TND and TWINE were from that range. The ones you are showing are from the wrong collection AND period of release and made after TWINE was even filmed. At least 10 years after TWINE was filmed in fact as they're from a recent collection.

I'm sorry I arrived late for the conversation, but would you have a reference number or ID number for those cufflinks
