Madagascar Holster

it is documented here http://www.jamesbondlifestyle.com/product/vega-ib339-holster
That Bond's Holster a light brown one in Madagascar chase but if you pause the film after he lands and justbefore he picks up a wrench to lower the platform he lands on ..you can see it looks all black ... an even better shot is after he thrusts the bomber forward and draws his gun ..pause it and u can clearly see it is black ... he my use brown later in the film but in my opinion not Madagascar ..

    Can't say I've ever noticed that??? However he does have a dark belt on and the Vega holster has a black clip.

    It is the Vega IB332 . They are weathered so they appear darker than the off the shelf holster but they are still brown. The same weathering process was also used on the Skyfall Vega PPK holster -{

    I think it's just discoloured from sweat, dirt and don't forget it's also wet from inside the embassy, I have a similar holster and they go very dark when wet., you should see the state of the planet ocean watch he wore during the Madagascar filming.

    Hate to spoil the illusion but Vega made the IB339 for the P99 but 100% the late Richard Hooper of Crowntower Ltd chose not to use it on location favouring a tighter fitting holster for the PAK (blank fire) P99 hence utilising the IB332.

    Again, He speaketh truth. You can tell by the cutout underneath the rear sight. The #339 lacks this. It's quite obvious when you look....

    Does the gun lock in with that holster? How secure is it?

    It is a very snug fit in the IB332 but looser in the IB339 hence requiring something it would not easily fall out of -{

    Depends how tight your belt is :D They're not exactly he best quality holsters in the world and the belt clip is too large for most belts and allows the weapon to move back and forth too much for someone who is serious about concealed carry. There are certainly better options out there, but it does the job.

    +1.

    As much as we love Vega for the SA factor, their suede IWB holsters are um, "inexpensively" produced with a low durability factor. The soft suede readily transfers perspiration to the gun and the mouth isn't reinforced to remain open for safe and efficient reholstering.

    All that said, my Gen 1 P99 has one. :D

    There are much better options for concealed carry. Movies are one thing, real life is quite another when you are carrying a loaded weapon.

    Probably, that thing would have flopped all over the place especially as bond isn't even wearing a belt. I used a similar holster, the suede is more grippy but mine had a metal spring clip sized to go over a specific belt.

    They used glued in ones and loose ones. Depending on the action being filmed

    They're probably using stock pictures of a generic holster. Or they may have changed the design.

    He wore a sand tone web belt in the Madagascar Chase Scenes.

    I thought Some scenes in the chase sequence he wasn't wearing a belt at all, and others he was . I know he has one in the Bond on Set relaxing in his trailer, but other screen grabs show no belt... bad continuity. Post 8 onwards in this thread makes mention of this, although I'm not sure it was 100% agred

    If you look at the picture in post 4 there is no belt, there is also no belt visible in a couple of shots while on the crane, maybe the belt was removed for the safety harness?

    It may be worth pointing out that the Vega is not designed as a belt holster otherwise it would probably be made of something more substantial such as the more traditional leather. It is a concealment holster made of light, relatively cheap materials however the polymer clip does keep it surprisingly rigid as there is a strengthening panel on the unseen part of the clip. If you fast drew your concealed weapon from the IB332 you may just bring the holster with you!
    The stunt & PAK P99 pistols are a very tight fit which was done purely for aesthetics and to stop them falling out during the bone crunching fight sequences and yes the very soft rubber stunts were glued in. The IB332 would not be suitable for a practical P99 (firearm) hence Vega themselves recommending the slightly larger IB339 -{

    Having had the opportunity to flick through the mighty tome that is 'The Most Famous Gun in the World', on page 91 the author Mr Hazard corroborates this information that a IB332 was used in this particular scene. -{

    I'm looking at websites selling the 332, and it doesn't seem to show that same cutout underneath the site...

    Just following up - it is in fact just a case of a generic photo on Amazon. They sent the correct version!

    Amazon photos are some of the worst on the internet. Unless you are certain there is only one variation, color, size, etc., you never know what you'll be getting.
