I don't have an original idea for Bond25, but given the recent and ongoing news saga about Britain's nuclear energy capacity - specifically the new Hinkley Point power station - perhaps it is time for the writers to revisit John Gardener's opening literary gambit License Renewed?
It could be done as a standalone movie, or interlinked with the Spectre / Quantum over arc. I am aware there is a dichotomy between IFP and EoN over the literary franchise and the movie franchise, but surely money talks? Despite that several of the scenes and settings in LR have already been plundered by the movie writers, it would make an entirely plausible narrative and we could even include the tetrahedron yacht as the climatic setting as opposed to the already utilized cargo plane.
    It'll never happen.
    I like to wish.

I would really like to see a revised version of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" with a few changes.
Remember how the girls were to be directed to spray the germ formula to the chickens? Let's say there were more dangerous missions for these women under Blofeld's command and throughout the film, Bond had to terminate these girls one at a time before they completed their mission.
Yes I admit I took the idea from the movie "Telefon" that Charles Bronson & Donald Pleasance were in.
He has to know who they are before he can eliminate them and Blofeld could control them from his cell in Her Majesty's Prison system. This will be part of the suspense involved in it.
Howard Shore or James Newton Howard can do the soundtrack and the main theme should be instrumental and not sung by a top 40 or contemporary artist.
This is just an idea and no way will anyone take this seriously. No way will they kill off all the female characters in a film, but thet will be Blofeld's plan to lure Bond in.
Blofeld would give each of them a code word and call them or text it to them somehow. The title will be something like "Wake Up Call For Queen & Country" as these female sleeper agents won't be aware of their mission until they get the signal to start their mission.

Taking the inspiration from the movies that inspired SPECTRE Bond is enjoying his honeymoon with Madeline, they are attacked by a huge ,fat henchman called, oh I don't know ,maybe Hugh Janus, killing Madeline and then Bond realising that he wasn't meant to be married so with relief he happily returns to MI6 as a double 0.

Cut to a prison where Blofelds son ,Wally Blofeld , leads a raid freeing Blofeld who realises that Wally isn't the wimp the thought and gives him a post on the SPECTRE board beside a former East German Stasi female agent and a smooth ,one eyed businessman who is only known as Number Three.

Blofeld is introduced to a mad scientist played by Anthony Hopkins who has produced robots, including one who looks exactly like Felix Leiter ............sorry a bit of an overlap there ;).. the female ones of which have explosive charges implanted in their boobies .
Blofeld intends to have these robots replace senior government peoples close contacts around the world including the foreign airheaded wife of the new American President Micky Farthead with the intention of at a certain point the robots will hug the senior people, detonating their boobies and killing them in vey public places if SPECTRE are not given pardons, one Trillion Dollars and free Persian cats for the rest of their lives.

Bond tracks down Janus and following a fight Bond ,who now knows Blofeld has a son, interrogates him asking "Where's Wally, where's Wally ?"

I think you get the idea from there on :v :)) :))

    Hi all,

new member here. I wrote a screenplay for a new Bond which someone recommended I post here. If you have a spare hour to read and would like to give some feedback I would be very grateful. Here is THE DEATH COLLECTOR:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2ZQrF4eO2HcMTYxaEtQUTVjLXc/view

Here is a synopsis and a cast list:

A soft reboot for a new Bond. A film largely set in sub-Saharan Africa, a first for the franchise, with a predominantly black cast.

Synopsis: After clashing with Bond, a high level CIA operative withholds information about an imminent attack on a British target somewhere around the world. After using his wits to discover the target, Bond heads to Nairobi to pressure a beautiful British national-turned-terrorist. In Kenya, the sins of the past collide with the enemies of the present and nothing is quite as it seems.

    CAST
    Bond - ?
    Ayesha – Lupita Nyong’o
    Wycliffe – Clarke Peters
    Leiter – Nate Parker
    Maria – Christina Hendricks
    Caro - Nicole Beharie
    M – Ralph Fines
    Q – Ben Wishaw
    Moneypenny – Naomi Harris
    Bob Franklin – Matthew Marsh
    Zufar - Djimon Hounsou

    Welcome to AJB007 :D
This is a very strong and interesting opening post! I haven't read all of it yet, just the Karachi and Copenhagen part and then some. There is a lot I like about your script, and the casting is interesting. I have campaigned for Christina Hendricks and Lupita Nyong'o as Bond girls for years. I also like the use of fresh locations. The Alps, Turkey and Italy have been used too much lately. I do have some comments about the story so far: The suicide bombers and burka-clad women is too dark and controversial. It also lack the spectacle needed for a PTS. Here is my suggestion: Mossad-trained Kurds have killed off Iranian nuclear scientists in a very interesting fashion lately - Men on motorcycles have attached magnetic limpet mines to the car of the victim, then drove off in the heavy traffic. What if SHAH is being moved to the the CIA station in Karachi in one of several CIA cars. Bond is helping out because SHAH knows and trusts him. The cars get attacked in the way a described above . Only the car with SHAH and Bond survive-Bond knocks over assailants with the car, drives close to corners to knock off mines, shoots attackers etc. It could be a very intersting car/motorcycle chase. 007 then hides SHAH in a MI6 safe house. FRANKLIN gets angry because bond has "stolen his defector".

In London;I don't think Moneypenny would have used the "dominant male"-line. The rest seems fine to me.

Copenhagen: Bond seems too on the nose towards FRANKLIN and his behavior towards the bodyguard makes Bond look like a bully. A smarter, playfull, even funny way for Bond to talk to MARIA would be better, I think.

These are just some notes from me, I hope I'm not overstepping. I look forward to reading more. :007)

Yes I do think that perhaps the PTS is a little too dark and controversial. Your alternative sounds interesting, I will do some research and play around with the idea. I will reflect on your other feedback too and I look forward to hearing more.

Assassinations of Iranian nuclear scientists: (Wikipedia)

15 January 2007: Ardeshir Hosseinpour reportedly died of gas poisoning from a faulty heater,[12] though claims or suggestions have since been made of foul play.[15][16]
12 January 2010: Masoud Alimohammadi was killed on his way to work by a booby-trapped motorcycle parked near his car in north Tehran.[2]
29 November 2010: Majid Shahriari was killed in northern Tehran by a magnetic bomb attached to his car by a motorcyclist. Shahriari's wife was wounded in the attack.[13]
29 November 2010: An attack identical to that which killed Shahriari was made on Fereydoun Abbasi, but Abbasi managed to escape the vehicle before the bomb exploded. Both he and his wife were wounded in the attack.[13]
23 July 2011: Darioush Rezaienejad was returning home with his wife and five-year-old daughter when he was shot and killed by motorcycle-borne gunmen.[7]
11 January 2012: Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan was killed by a magnetic bomb attached to his car.[1]
3 January 2015: Iran claimed to have thwarted an attack on another Iranian nuclear scientist.[4]

Thanks! Do you know Africa and Denmark from visit?

More notes on the story: I think Franklin's reaction towards Bond in the PTS was a bit overcooked, so I suggested 007 "stealing" Shah would work better. I also think M's reaction was a bit harsh. Threathening Bond to leave the service seems both extreme and overused. Perhaps M should threathened to demote Bond from the 00-section would work better? A desk job at the MI6 station in Canada perhaps....

Ive been to Copenhagen for a week a couple of years back and have spent time in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Uganda. However, I have never been to Kenya so I'm writing about it from research done from books, films, internet etc.

I may rework the Shah story to hem up Bond and Franklin conflict because I like the conflict and it pays off later in the story. But keep the suggestions coming, I'm really enjoying having feedback.

I havd to ask why you replaced Jeffery Wright in the Felix Leiter role?

It's a good question. I like Jeffrey Wright as felix but I wanted an air of mystery about his reveal and you can't do that with an actor who has played the role before. I also imagined a 33-37 year old actor to play Bond and with Wright being 50+ I think the chemistry of them being close friends might not work.

Purely for the sake of a fun argument, and not in any way meant as comment or criticism:

The point of Felix's age vs Bond's age came up during the making of LTK. With Felix being much more important to the plot than usual, it was felt necessary to cast an actor who had played him before. John Terry was the most recent, but his role in the previous film TLD had been brief and he hadn't made much impact, and the next most recent Felix had been David Hedison in LALD, 16 years earlier. There was some discussion over whether at this point, in his early 60s, he would look believable as best buddy to Timothy Dalton, mid-40s, but after meeting with him Eon felt he would be just fine:

    AA_OLD_MAN.jpg

...which turned out to be the case. And here he is with Sir Rog (same age) in LALD, perhaps the best James/Felix pairing:

    AA_OLD_MAN_2.jpg

So I'd say casting Wright wouldn't be a problem if he and whoever is Bond had a believable chemistry, whatever their relative ages.

Yes, no problem there casting him with Craig.

But to be fair (I sometimes try to be), the main reason Leiter was re-cast in this story was to make him a mystery in the earlier scenes.
  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 36,204Chief of Staff
Yes, that's an old trick (TB).
  • MichaelBrownMichaelBrown Oxford, UKPosts: 10MI6 Agent
Yes the Leiter scenes are an homage to TB and more so Dr No where we again are not sure who this shadowy figure is. I agree Hedison works great in LTK and cant imagine the film working with John Terry that's for sure! Wright is a great actor and could still work too I'm sure.

I think this was the plan in Casino Royale. In the script, Leiter's character is called Wolpart or something. They obviously had second thoughts and changed it.

This would be a good time to use an oil rig as a location again. I don't buy the argument that it's "been done" in DAF. There are many ways to use an oil rig in an action scene, and it can be done much better than in DAF.
Because of the drop in the oil price there are many rigs out of commision and "parked" around the world. In just one bay in southeren Norway there are seven, just waiting to be put in use.

Just rent one of them for a month (probably cheap, since the companies make no mony from them now), film on them and show CGI sea around them. Explotions and the like can be done by CGI or models. There are even models made of them already!

Pop quiz - who can name the man holding the oil rig model? He has a very important job right now.

An unlikely idea, but I've recently thought about having a Bond movie Suicide Squad style, where Bond has to lead a team of villains to bring down a bigger threat (possibly Blofeld). But, as it would be taking place in the new Craig timeline, the team of villains can be made up of rebooted classic villains, including Dr No, Grant, Goldfinger, Scaramanga, Jaws, Zorin etc.

Teaming Bond up with villans of the past might be an idea for a computer game, Goldeneye-style, but it'll never happen in the movies.

In Bond 25 I would love the film to start with a pre title sequence that is not related whatsoever to the actual film, a sort of stand alone mini mission, like Goldfinger.

Also felix leiter has to make an appearance in the next film, two films without him, I want to see him, make sure he's ok.

I guess it won't happen until we get a new Bond actor, but I want Bond movies to be about missions and not Bond's past. It would also be great to see him as an assassin. At the same time I also want to see him enjoying fine food and wine. The monologue from the CR novel about "taking a ridicolous amount of pleasure" from his means while travelling should be used. And I want to see a big raid at the end of a movie again, with Bond in the arms of Synnøve Macody Lund (or someone else) when the credits roll.

I see a story idea in this news article:
    https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/jan/28/greenland-narsaq-uranium-mine-dividing-town

One of the largest unmined uranium deposits in the world is in southern Greenland. SPECTRE can mine uranium there for an atom bomb. bond can team up with Denmark's Sirius patrol for a fight on skis, dog sleds and snow mobiles! A location doesn't get much more exotic.
