We need to start a new thread - the near miss but lived to tell the tale (the real Bond Experience - sorry David) or Facing the Loaded Gun (how to smile sweetly and learn to forgive) I reckon that would be a book all of its own!

I think its a GREAT idea for a thread...! May have a few contributions myself...non-textile related! ;)

Yeah we have somewhat apologies to OP - of course I blame Chris he started the lamp swinging :D

We sound like bunch of aging agents regailing their times of daring do - while everyone else yawns on. But could be a fun read for some I guess never thought about it before.

Where to post the thread though (probably more like sticky by the time we have finished) now there is the question?

    Cheers :007)

Off topic is surely the home for such a new thread?
The hp did indeed have a proper safety, meaning you could have the pistol made ready and still be relatively safe. Of course all guns that are properly maintained are safe, it's the person holding them who are sometimes not.

There is only one dangerous part of a firearm.

You all worked with some dangerous people!

In over forty years of owning and handling firearms, both in the military, as a Sheriff's Deputy, and instructor, I've never had a close call such as you are describing.

Scary stuff. I'm glad I went home every night with the same amount of holes I showed up with.

When your job description is training a conscript army, you'll get the full cross section of the society. Some genuinely scary people there handling explosives, armament of various descriptions as well as heavy machinery and power tools... :#
