I was wondering if you watched the DVD/ blurays in English or your
Own language and what you may think of the voice actors used to
Dub for Craig, Connery etc ?
Or Have you noticed any differences in the script from one or other ?

I watch them in English because they don't dub that many films in the Netherlands, so don't they dub Bond. But when I watch a Harry Potter movie, it's also in English. Dutch isn't really that kind of a 'cool' language, everything sounds stupid and childish. Tried to watch them in German once, well that was terrible. It doesn't look right (lip sync) and doesn't sound right if you know there real voices.

Another Dutch guy here. Besides movies made for children, movies are not being dubbed here. I have watched the movies in Italian when I was learning the language.

(Enormous Bump) My father, when he first watched Goldfinger in the early 70s when he was a child (he was born in 1967) and lived in Belgium, there were German dubs of the movies and he had told me that they weren't as good as the original, obviously, but they weren't that bad. The characters matched their voices but he doesn't remember if the lip sync was good. He also told me that he watched Moonraker in the cinema, but he failed to mention whether or not it was dubbed.
    a reasonable rate of return

Bride Of Barbel being German she had only seen the Bond films in their dubbed form until meeting me so had never heard Sean Connery's real voice. On hearing him actually speak, an experience that would soon become commonplace, her comment was "Ah. Now I see!" :D
Similarly I hadn't watched the Bond films (or indeed any others) in German before meeting the Bride- for one thing, my German wasn't that good. Now that it's improved* I have enjoyed seeing some of them in their dubbed form. Often the jokes are changed (some jokes don't work in other languages).

    Anyhow, btt

My favorite line is still "Der Engländer ist abgehauen" which I had in mind often after the BREXIT decision :D

Interesting fact may be for some that from Connery<Lazenby, the German James Bond voice did not change. They just kept the existing actor who btw. dubbed another big cinema hero here in Winnetou. He was the voice of Old Shatterhand.

In the Persuaders days, Roger Moore was dubbed by a different actor than in his Bond days, but that voice later shifted to Higgins in Magnum p.i.

I still remember the first time that I've heard Connery undubbed. I've heard about his Scottish accent before, but I thought wtf :D

Moore's German voice is pretty similar to his original voice though sometimes it's difficult to transport the jokes ( and in particular HIS jokes!) to another language.

It works best for the ladies, of course, being a large part of his appeal to them.

I almost always watch Bond film's in my own language - french. I never noticed big differences (the dialogues are not 100% accurate but it's honest, maybe more 90% and we have, in France, the chance to have no censor, so there are few shoot prohibed by the BBFC what are in the french film version).

The french voices of the actor are good and the always sames (only a change for Connery in NSNA but it's not higly different ; and is not the same actor for the 2 Dalton).

I have to admit hearing English-language movies dubbed always sounds ridicolous to me. To me, dubbing is for small children. Funny story: the only program where Icelandic TV were lobbied to remove the subtitles was Baywatch :))
    Can you guess why?

Well, yeah. How can you watch boobies bouncing in slo-mo when you have to read stuff on another part of the screen at the same time.

That's it! I've experienced the same frustration often enough myself, and it's the only way dubbing better subtitles :(

However, I did use the Italian dubbed Bond movies to improve my Italian.
