Watched Spectre last nite for the first time since the cinemas. I'll try not to repeat any issues that I've already posted.

    - Music becomes gratuitous during both car chases.

    - Many have already questioned the amount of DNA info that Q obtained from the ring. However, I'm more puzzled why the henchmen just sat there and let him do it instead of taking any action.

    - Mr. White should have known he was being filmed/recorded before blabbing the whereabout of his daughter. Wasn't she perfectly safe without Bond anyway?

    - I was hoping for a ski chase down from the clinic. Instead Bond uses an airplane.

    - Dr. Swann abruptly leaves Bond near the end of the film. That was pretty awkward twist in the story. Of course she is swiftly captured by Blofeld. Seriously, who would just walk away like that before the mission is over?

    - Why does Bond think Blofeld is bluffing about the bomb?

Firemass, I could kiss you. I totally forgot about smart blood and the DNA on the ring, I almost didn't mention these in my review.

-The henchmen manage to miss Bond while he's running though the steel bridge as if they are all firing at the same pace and direction. LOL

Sam Mendes explained the ring. It's made from a rare metal, from the meteor at Blofeld's lair. Traces of the metal were found in Le Chiffre, Mr White, Dominic Greene and Silva.

I got the impression that all these men had worn that same ring at one point, which seemed odd since I'm sure they would each have their own instead of passing one ring around.

Didn't Q claim he had found traces of their DNA all in that ring? As opposed to finding traces of the same metal in the various autopsy reports.

Didn't read through all off the replies, but something i have always found terribly terrible:

IN DAF, as Peter Franks enters the house of Tiffany, Connery greets him with The Words: "Guten Abend" and "Bitte". eventhough they are in Holland, The only movie ever featured in Holland, none of those words is Dutch! Such a shame...

Even later in the film, I thought the parts with Plenty O'Toole and pretending to be Klaus Hergesheimer are hilarious and brilliantly done. I don't think Professor Dr Metz would believe that someone with a Scottish accent could be named Klaus Hergesheimer, but that only adds to how funny it is.

That's not at all unusual. Klaus's ancestors would have been German immigrants, and he likely grew up in Pennsylvania where there are some very strong German communities. German was still spoken there commonly at the time Klaus would have been born. It's possible for there to be a Scottish Klaus Hergesheimer, but it would not have been at all unusual for someone named Klaus to have been born in America back then. Today, not so much.

The reàl Klaus Hergesheimer, had an American accent. I also find it odd that Metz isn't suspicious that of the fact that "Hergesheimer" has a new look. Maybe the real Hergesheimer doesn't go to that area often.

Why does Bond think he can impersonate someone who has been working there for three years? Klaus Hergesheimer basically tells Bond that he has been checking radiation shields for three years. While Metz is certainly the type of person who would "run down the little people" like Klaus and G section, he would have interacted with Klaus before and should have realised something was off immediately. Someone in the lab would have. Bond should have pretended he was someone new in G section, not someone who had been working there for three years.

I know a lot of movie (often Bond) plots are moved forward by convieniences, but one in MR has really made me think these last few days. Bond is given a boat and goes out searching for an orchid in the Amazon - but why? What is he hoping to find that he doesn't already know? All he would discover is that the orchid is there - it's only a coincidence that one of Drax's bases (also conveniently the one that Drax is at) is also nearby. Plus, Bond is only made aware of their location by the boat chase - presumably he's not going to stumble on the pyramids base that's nowhere near the river, only near a waterfall he wouldn't go to unless he was trying to escape.

it's only a coincidence that one of Drax's bases

Pretty sure that he's going up there to look for clues as to the bases, not necessarily the orchid (as you said he already knows this) and that while looking for clues to the bases he comes across them.

I guess the thing that's messy with this is the bases are where the orchid is - but the usefulness of the orchid location has been removed because the glass was blown and filled with the liquid in Venice! The Moonrakers could've launched from anywhere...

I was mildly annoyed to hear the LALD theme song in the dreadful film American Hustle.
The rights to Bond songs should not be given to other films IMO.

Although I don't mind quite as much as a pop culture reference like a character singing Nobody Does It Better (Lost in Translation)

The obvious use of the Fuji blimp in AVTAK bothers me. Sure, the Zorin blimp used the same colour scheme as the real Fuji blimp, but the actual design of the two blimps are completely different, despite the fact the design of the Zorin bli,o was supposed to be made similar so the footage of the Fuji blimp could be used to cut costs.

It's clearly visible in the film; the Zorin blimp is all white, with green lettering and a thin red strip around the blimp. The Fuji blimp is more green than white, and it's clearly visible in the finale of the film (and possibly earlier) that the blimp in some shots is mostly green.

In On Her Majesty's Secret Service, why does Bond use a massive unwieldy photocopier to copy the letters in Gumbold's office safe? Why doesn't he use the small camera that he uses later in the film?

I do like one of his lines before he goes in though: "I'll get cracking on this appointment and then catch up with you", and it only took me about six viewings of the film before I realised that he's referring to "cracking" the safe.

Excellent question. Even today if I have the option of scanning a document vs taking a photo, I will usually take a photo unless I need it to be super high quality. Quicker and easier. The fact that the xerox machine had to be imported by crane makes it even more absurd.

Never caught the safe cracking joke. Thanks!

Tomorrow Never Dies, shi* there's quite a few:

    - Punching sound effect. Sounds like a Segal movie. (Thanks Remington for pointing this out).
    - Mattress clearly visible for stuntman to fall into at the newspaper press.
    - When stealing the missile underwater the laser drill thing (?) is clearly a plastic stick.
    - Stamper saying "use the sledge" to the heavies when he's not there, or not sounding like it's over radio.
    - Spill on Robinson's suit in the car in London due to stupid drinks.
    - The guys in the helicopter in the Saigon chase looking lower than the top level when the helicopter descends - Bond and Wai Lin would be clearly visible in that apartment.
    - Dummy miniature guys in the helicopter when it crashes into the building, surely they'd jump out or be moving...
    - British whisper jets and sign-written aircraft demonstrating that the airfield in "Germany" is clearly in the UK.
    - Garage is in the UK, just a few signs to try and mask it being in Germany.
    - The crashing of the car into the Avis office (that's OTT and I'll look past that) but the falling bricks into the street probably would've killed someone.
    - Large, black camera at the arms bazaar should've been white and camouflaged.
    - Smirnoff vodka. Drink something with a bit more class...
    - Wai Lin abseiling during a firefight.

    Here's a really pathetic niggle:

    - The usage of Times New Roman in blue and yellow "HMS Devonshire South China Sea" etc. dates the film. Most films use Helvetica because of its less dated nature and they use Helvetica style in TND to translate the Danish!
